Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s $500 million Venice wedding is officially over, and they won’t have to go far for their honeymoon.
Sources told the Daily Mail on June 29 that Bezos and Sanchez are set to honeymoon in Taormina, Sicily, where they’ll stay at the Four Seasons San Domenico Palace—the same hotel where Season 2 of The White Lotus was filmed.
Bezos and Sanchez first visited Taormina as a couple in 2024, where they fell in love with the town and toured Sicily’s coast and the Aeolian Islands. After their wedding in Venice, Bezos and Sanchez were seen staying in the Torcello area of the city to enjoy lunch before going to Nicelli, where they’re set to take a helicopter to Bezos’ $500 million superyacht, Koru, which will take them to Sicily.
The hotel, which can cost more than €7,000 per night, is based on a hilltop in Taormina, beside the Ionian Sea and below an active volcano named Mount Etna. It’s also located near vineyards, an ancient Greek theatre, and medieval villages.

“Season 2 of The White Lotus was filmed at San Domenico Palace, Taormina, A Four Seasons Hotel, the perfect seaside backdrop for taking the inherent romance of Italy and infusing it with an air of drama and intrigue,” the official Four Seasons website reads. “A former 14th-century convent perched high on a cliff above the Ionian Sea, San Domenico Palace feels like a Sicilian dream. It’s also where you’ll find some of Sicily’s best-kept hidden gems. Enjoy a private helicopter ride around Mount Etna, take an insider’s tour of Noto with celebrated designer Samuele Mazza, or pay a visit to the medieval village of Castiglione di Sicilia to taste exceptional wines produced from the area’s fertile volcanic soil”
A stay at a €7,000-per-night hotel is almost nothing compared to what Bezos and Sanchez spent on their wedding. According to Reuters, the couple paid between $46.5 million to $55.6 million on their wedding venue alone after they had to change locations due to security concerns. According to People, Sanchez’s wedding ring, which is estimated to be about 30 carats, likely costs around $5 million, much less than the average wedding ring in the United States, which is $5,200.
With all the money they spent on their wedding, Bezos, who is worth $237 billion, made sure he had Sanchez sign a multi-million-dollar prenup before their wedding, according to Page Six. The contract came after Bezos reportedly paid out his ex-wife, Mackenzie Scott, more than $38 billion after their prenup-less divorce in 2019.

While the exact details of Bezos and Sanchez’s prenup aren’t known, Christopher Melcher, an attorney and partner at Walzer Melcher & Yoda LLP, told Fox News that it was likely iron-clad after his financial mistake in his first marriage. “Bezos handled his first divorce as fast as an Amazon delivery,” he said. “It was quick but not painless. Billions of dollars were at stake, which were earned during marriage and had to be split because there was no premarital agreement.”
Melcher continued, “People sometimes make a new spouse pay the price for their prior failed marriage by insisting on one-sided or overly harsh terms in a premarital agreement. The need for protection is understandable, but it can go too far and harm the relationship by keeping the couple from being true partners.”
Melcher also explained that Bezos’ prenup isn’t necessarily to protect his wealth, but his children. “For Bezos, his enormous wealth will allow him to be generous in his marriage with Lauren. He has enough money to provide for his existing children, to make charitable donations, while also creating a strong community estate with Lauren,” Melcher said.
He continued, “Because Bezos has children [four children with Scott] and other uses for his money, there is a legitimate need to create some guardrails around his premarital estate. This can be done while also creating a partnership with Lauren. For example, there could be a large upfront payment at date of marriage, like a signing bonus, or a large payment on separation, like a severance.”
Melcher noted that the prenup also protects Sanchez. “Lauren might have an interest in keeping her property separate, but it is really Bezos who would benefit from a prenup,” Melcher said. “[Bezos] is also going to want to consider what he’s done to terminate his first marriage, because there may be obligations in that that would affect the prenup.”
Before her wedding to Bezos, Sanchez was married to Patrick Whiteseller. The couple divorced in 2019 and signed a prenup before their marriage. According to TMZ, Sanchez and Whitesell’s assets and properties were divided according to the prenup.
