A$AP Rocky Accidentally Leaks Rihanna’s 3rd Baby’s Gender After the Singer ‘Prayed’ For a Girl

Ever since she announced her pregnancy at the Met Gala in May 2025, fans have been desperate to know the gender of Rihanna and A$AP Rocky’s third baby—and whether Hollywood’s favorite boy mom will finally have her girl.
What’s Rihanna’s third baby’s gender?
While Rihanna and A$AP Rocky haven’t clearly confirmed the gender of their third baby, A$AP Rocky has made several nods that he wants their baby to be a girl. “I hope it’s a girl. I really do. We’re praying for a girl,” he told Elle. “Our first time, we wanted to know the sex of the baby. The second time, we didn’t want to know. Third time, we don’t want to know until, you know.”
“I feel like it’s going to be a girl,” he continued. “This pregnancy is so different from the other two. You can tell from the experience. I hope it’s a baby girl, man. I need that.”
Rocky seemingly hinted that he and Rihanna are expecting a girl for their third baby in an interview with Entertainment Tonight at the Smurfs premiere on June 29, 2025. “Is that the girl you’ve been waiting for?” Entertainment Tonight asked Rocky who responded with a smile, “It is, man, it is.”
Rocky then held up a plushy of a Smurfette—the character Rihanna plays in the Smurfs movie—before joking that he was referring to the toy and not his and Rihanna’s third baby. “Right here, right here,” he said as Entertainment Tonight responded, “You know what I’m asking!” In response, Rocky just laughed.
Rocky’s possible confirmation came after Rihanna told Interview magazine in 2024 she wanted to try for another baby in hopes of having a daughter. “I don’t know what god wants, but I would go for more than two. I would try for my girl. But of course if it’s another boy, it’s another boy,” she said.
When asked how many kids she planned to have, Rihanna told Interview, “As many as god wants me to have.”
At the Smurfs premiere, Rocky also didn’t give a limit on how many kids he planned to have with Rihanna. “We’re going to be like the Wayans family, you know?” he told Entertainment Tonight, referencing the famous family of 10. “I mean, love is beautiful, and it’s just spreading it.”
Rihanna announced her pregnancy with her third child at the Met Gala in May 2025. After the event, Rihanna’s friend (and former rival) Ciara told Sherri Shepherd on Sherri that the Fenty Beauty founder is already thinking of a fourth child.
“We were cracking up talking about, cause’ Russ with us and A$AP, we all took a picture together and he started talking about cinco because you know I have four,” Ciara said, referring to her husband, Russell Wilson. “We start talking about quatro for her, but she got to get through the tres first, the third baby.”
She continued, “Straight mommy talk, just sweet love, special moment for her. I got to shout her out because she also sent me a sweet DM a few months back saying she’s so proud of me.”
Rihanna and Rocky, who started dating in 2019, welcomed their first child, a son named Riot, on August 1, 2023. Their second kid, another son named RZA, was born on May 13, 2024. A source told People in May 2025 that Rihanna and Rocky wanted their kids to be near in age, which is why Rihanna’s pregnancies have been so close together. “Rihanna has always wanted a big family, so she couldn’t be more excited. Rihanna and Rocky are thrilled to be growing their family and they can’t wait to give their boys another sibling,” the insider said. “They wanted to have their children close together in age, so that they could grow up together and share a close bond. They feel so blessed and are so grateful for this next chapter in their lives. It’s a very special time.”
Another source also added to People that Rihanna’s pregnancy came at a good time after Rocky was acquitted in his felony assault trial in February 2025. The trial was over accusations that A$AP fired an automatic handgun at A$AP Mob member A$AP Relli during an altercation in November 2021.
“[They’ve] had some time to decompress and just focus on family time,” the insider said. “Rihanna’s a great mom. She loves playing with the kids.” The source went on to add that Rocky’s “such a playful dad too. They were hoping for another baby.”
