If you wanna be my lover, you gotta get with all her friends! Melanie “Mel B” Browns’s highly anticipated wedding with longtime boyfriend Rory McPhee happened over the weekend, but some of her famous friends were missing at the nuptials.

The famed Spice Girl held her wedding at The Crypt at St Paul’s Cathedral in London on Saturday, July 5. However, only one fellow Spice Girls member attended—Emma Bunton aka Baby Spice. The couple started dating in 2018 and became engaged in 2022. It was the fellow Spice Grils hat pushed Mel B to pursue the relationship. She told Hello! Magazine, “They were actually pushing me towards Rory for ages before the two of us became romantic, but I’d say to them, ‘It’s not like that; he’s just a really good friend who makes me feel safe.'”

So what happened between now and then?

Why wasn’t Victoria Beckham at Mel B’s Wedding?

Victoria Beckham was reportedly abroad during Mel B’s wedding in Central London, so rest assured, there isn’t any bad blood with the besties! “Victoria has long standing plans out of the country and she simply can’t be there,” a source told the Daily Mail. “She adores Mel, they get on really well despite their paths going in opposite directions. It’s a real shame. There is no issue between them, they haven’t fallen out. It’s just one of those things.”

Despite her absence, both Victoria and Mel C, sent their well wishes to the newlywed couple. “Congratulations to you both! We hope you had the most amazing day,” the designer wrote on her Instagram story.

Mel Chilsom, or Mel C, wrote on her Instagram story that she was “beyond gutted” to miss out on the ceremony. “Excited to celebrate with you really soon!” she added. “Yippee!” The singer had to miss out on the nuptials to go perform at the We Love the 90 & 00s Festival in Stockholm, Sweden.

Celebs who were in attendance included Cara Delevingne, Daisy Lowe and Katherine Ryan. Victoria Beckham did have a large part in the wedding. She designed a dress for Mel B’s daughter Phoenix, who served as one of the bridesmaids.

“Well, Victoria [Beckham] did say she’d be happy to make me a dress,” Mel B told Hello! “But I don’t want just one; I want to have many different dresses for that day or a week of celebrations. I’ve been married twice before, so, third time lucky.”

However, this ceremony won’t be the only one that the singer and her hairstylist husband will have. The Daily Mail reported that the two will have a more lowkey celebration in Morocco. The ceremony described as “more informal, sexy and beautiful,” and we hope that we can see another Spice Girls reunion there too!
