The moment right after a breakup is always the most complicated, and that seems to be doubly true for celebrities. The typical emotions of the moment are present, but they’re playing out in public, with people not just scrutinizing every little thing, but also offering up opinions about how one party or the other is handling the situation. And that just makes the people involved even more upset because there’s no hiding what the other person is doing. Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom’s relationship is at such a moment.
The couple, who recently broke up, and who have had their ups and downs already since the breakup—like Bloom attending Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s wedding solo, even though they’re more Katy Perry’s friends than his, and that he was critical of Perry for her Blue Origin flight to space are among the problems.

However, a new report by Page Six indicates that the two actually parted ways earlier this year, and Bloom has been acting very much like a single man since. A source told the outlet that the actor was flirting with women on a recent trip to Miami. “Orlando was definitely with girls in Miami,” the source said. “He’s been not subtly out and about,” they added, calling his flirting “unapologetic.”
In fact, the Daily Mail reports he was very much partying it up during Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s wedding weekend, leaving Perry feeling some kind of way. “It’s disappointing,” a source close to Perry said. “It’s hurtful and annoying. If he’s going to behave like an acting-up adolescent, that’s on him. She’s going to continue to work and take care of Daisy.”
Daisy is the couple’s daughter, who is currently 4 years old.
“Katy knows that he’s free to do whatever the hell he wants to do, she hoped he’d do it a little more discreetly and thoughtfully,” the source added. “So, she’s disappointed and sad.”
Reps for Bloom and Perry previously issued the following statement to Page Six, which confirmed “that Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting. They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is —and always will be— raising their daughter with love, stability, and mutual respect.”
Bloom has recently been sharing quotes from the late psychiatrist Carl Jung on Instagram that speak to heartbreak. In his stories, he posted, “Loneliness does not come from having no people about one, but from being unable to communicate the things that seem important to oneself.” He also posted another quote that read “Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness, and the word happy would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness.”
But he also sent a message about moving on and starting fresh, with a quote from Gautama Buddha. “Each day is a new beginning. What we do today is what matters most.”
What this means about his relationship with Perry we’ll just have to wait and see. But Katy Perry’s camp seems clear that this is just about managing his public persona. “He’s smart enough to know that the partying is not a good look,” the source said. “But all the quotes in the world from famous philosophers and religious leaders can’t change the fact that he’s out there doing what he’s doing.”
