Katie Holmes Just Subtly Reacted to Rumors of Tom Cruise’s ‘Love Affair’ With an Actress 26 Years Younger Than Him

TomKat has been over for years, but it seems like Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are still supporting each other from the sidelines. Holmes, who was married to Cruise from 2006 to 2012, was caught “liking” a May 1 Instagram post by the Daily Mail reporting on Cruise’s new relationship with actress (and Ben Affleck’s ex-girlfriend) Ana de Armas.
“Tom Cruise and Ana de Armas love affair confirmed,” read the post that Holmes liked. the post also included a photo of Cruise and Armas exiting a helicopter together. Cruise, who is 63, and de Armas, who is 37, first sparked dating rumors in February 2025 when they were photographed together in London.
Though Cruise has yet to confirm the relationship, he commented about de Armas’ talent in an interview with Extra in May 2025. “Very, very talented, great dramatic actress, comedic, tremendous ability, learns quickly,” he said. Armas also confirmed that she and Cruise had multiple projects in the works in May 2025.

“It’s so much fun,” de Armas told Good Morning America at the time. “We’re definitely working on a lot of things.”
Despite their 26-year age gap, a source told the Daily Mail in May 2025 that the age difference is one of the reasons de Armas attracted to Cruise. “Tom makes Ana feel safe and that is very important to her,” the insider said. “She loves being away from the crazy. She has been traveling with Tom to busy cities like London, but he always makes her feel safe because he is thoughtful and he has a ton of security. He never puts her at risk, she is completely taken care of when she is in his company.”
The source went on to claim that those close to Cruise and de Armas believe the relationship could last because de Armas does “not like to party” and prefers to spend quiet nights at home with her rumored older boyfriend. Another insider claimed that the rumored couple are “taking it day by day,” as Armas “does not give her heart away easy.”

Cruise and Holmes, for their part, divorced in 2012 after six years together. They share one child, a daughter named Suri born in 2006. Their divorce was finalized in two weeks. In an interview with People in 2014, Holmes opened up about how her life had changed after her divorce from Cruise. “I don’t have any fear now,” she said. “I don’t have a lot of rules for myself, and I don’t take myself that seriously.” She continued, “I don’t want that moment in my life to define me, to be who I am. I don’t want that to be what I’m known as. I was an actor before, an actor during and an actor now.”
