Princess Anne Just Debuted a New Hairstyle For the 1st Time in Decades
You know the saying Don’t mess with what works. Princess Anne certainly does. The Princess has sported the same hairstyle for years, to the point where it has become synonymous with her. She is, after all, a public figure, which means people pay attention to things like what she’s wearing and her hairstyle. And that means people have noticed that she has kept the same one for decades, and they certainly noticed the change.
The Princess debuted her new look during a state dinner where King Charles and Queen Camilla welcomed French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte Macron. Alongside the new hairstyle, she was wearing a white gown and the Festoon tiara, while accompanied by her husband, Sir Tim Laurence.

Princess Anne’s hair being a topic of discussion isn’t surprising, considering she’s had the same look for over five decades. When she was younger, Princess Anne was sometimes seen with her hair down, but she’s kept the pretty consistent bouffant for years. Until now, when her hair was styled in more of a low chignon.
Of course, the internet took notice. One user wrote on X: “Lovely to see HRH switching her hairstyle up a lil bit and Sir Tim is wearing the traditional Windsor uniform/suit.”
A second one was more enthusiastic: “Ma’am!!!!!!!! Princess Anne is certainly serving looks tonight.”
This news comes amid recent reports that the Princess had been advocating for her brother, King Charles, to reconnect with his youngest son, Prince Harry, amid his cancer diagnosis. She has also been trying to get his brother to play intermediary in the part of the feud that concerns Prince Harry and Prince William. “The news that her beloved brother’s cancer is incurable has forced her to face a devastating reality – there’s a sense of urgency and time’s running out,” a source told Woman’s Day.
Prince Harry recently said, in a BBC interview. “I would love reconciliation with my family. There’s no point in continuing to fight anymore. Life is precious. I don’t know how much longer my father has.” But the Prince also revealed his father isn’t speaking to him, which might have prompted Princess Anne to step in to try to help fix the rift between father and son.
The Princess is said to be one of her brother’s closest confidants and someone who isn’t afraid to call him out when needed. “As tough as it’s been, Anne and Charles have been having serious discussions about his final wishes, all of which she has every intention of keeping – and it’s Anne that’s urging the King to pursue one in particular that right now appears to be impossible – finding a way to end this out-of-control feud between his sons, even if it’s not in his lifetime.”
Whether Princess Anne will succeed in her quest or not remains to be seen, but for now, it seems like one more person is looking for reconciliation. And she will do so with a new hairdo.
