Love Island USA‘s Liv’s Secret ‘Athlete’ Boyfriend Revealed After That Whole Drama With Kaylor
After Love Island USA, there’s Love Island Beyond the Villa. And if there’s one thing the spinoff has proven to be good for, is an update on contestants’ relationship status. Such was the case on the premiere episode of the show, which saw Olivia “Liv” Walker discuss whether she was dating someone or not with castmates Kaylor Martin, Kendall Washington, and Connor Newsum.
While Kaylor and Liv were ready to have a “hot girl summer,” Liv seemed to indicate she was already taken, though details were kept scarce. This is, however, reality TV, so we got some information from Kaylor. “Liv’s been talking to this guy, this athlete,” she said during a confessional. “He has money, so I wanna go to that birthday.”

But who is Liv’s boyfriend? What does he have to do with the rooftop fight Live and Kaylor had, and the fact that their friendship, reportedly, “hasn’t been fine for months”? We break it down.
Who’s Liv Walker’s Boyfriend From Love Island Beyond the Villa?
We know for sure there is someone, as Live confirmed it in an interview with Extra when being asked point-blank if she was seeing someone or was single and ready to mingle. “No, I am in a relationship,” later clarifying it wasn’t someone people knew about. During the show, she kept cards close to the chest, saying, “I am seeing someone, but it’s early days. If it all goes well you all will find out, but until then, pray and wish it the best.” Fans, however, think they have figured out who it is. Los Angeles Lakers forward Dalton Knecht.
How do people know this? Well, Liv pretty much soft-launched their relationship, and internet sleuths figured out the rest. It wasn’t even that hard, considering she had admitted to having a crush on Knecht before.
Liv was recently linked to Jacob Toppin, another NBA player, a forward for the Atlanta Hawks. First, she posted a video with him that she later deleted, but fans were quick to screengrab, and then fans noticed the same nails on a video Toppin posted as in one video Liv posted, not to mention some other videos of the two of them together. Circumstantial, but enough.
Liv also said about her boyfriend that, “I also signed up for this, and I never expect someone to put their life [out there],” she said on Love Island Beyond the Villa, adding that, “I wanna see where their head’s at and stuff, but at the moment, we’re just building what we have and making it good.”
“He’s such a great guy and everything’s going well, but I’m not hiding it from anyone. I’m just building it. It’s early. Putting it between us, and then I can’t wait to share it with everyone else.”
Now, we get to the fight between Kaylor and Liv. During the Beyond the Villa premiere, Kaylor claimed Liv had lied to her about a camera a brand sent to both of them. “I feel like I can’t fully trust her,” she said. And it got worse, after Kaylor learned that Liv and her boyfriend were out together, and even meeting up with Kendall, after telling her their plans had been cancelled. Cardinal friendship sin, and any boyfriend should know that.
Kaylor and Liv had it out at the rooftop party in Beyond the Villa. Liv apologized for lying about the camera and for the miscommunication about the rest, but things didn’t end on the best note. “Little things that I feel like weren’t very truthful hurt me because I’m really open, and I trust everyone,” Kaylor said on the show. “I’m a very loyal friend, so when I feel like that energy isn’t reciprocated, it kind of hurts me.”
So, how is their friendship right now? “I’ve had my own issues with people in my immediate life that have lied to me, so I don’t feel like I necessarily want someone like that in my life if that keeps happening over and over again,” Kaylor said. “But I do love Liv, and she’s been a great friend to me overall. I will always love her.”
