The reports of strife in the British royal family have taken a turn for the better, or at least some of them. Last week, aides from King Charles and Prince Harry met is what is believed to be the first step for reconciliation between the father and son. And yet, Prince William’s aides were not present, and the feud between the brothers seems to be holding strong, even though King Charles wants peace. So, is there any hope for the one super close brothers?
For now, it seems like Prince William has found a new close friend. The Prince is said to have developed a friendship with Robert Irwin, and he is said to be eager to collaborate with him. Star reported that Prince William thinks Robert has the “charisma, work ethic, and heart to truly inspire the next generation,” and that he has “talked about filming a wildlife special” with Irwin to “help further their shared mission of conservation.”

Irwin, the son of the late “Crocodile Hunter” Steve Irwin, was named an ambassador for the Earthshot Prize, an annual award that celebrates contributions to environmentalism. The award is presented by Prince William’s charity, The Royal Foundation.

“William has always been a huge fan of the Irwin family; he thinks they’re absolutely first rate and really admires the way they’ve handled Steve’s legacy and what they’ve built from it,” the source said. “He and Robert met years ago and hit it off right away, so he’s thrilled to be working with him on Earthshot. There’s a real mutual respect and shared passion for conservation.”
Furthermore, William reportedly thinks, “the Irwins represent the kind of global, positive energy the monarchy needs more of, and he’s eager to bring them further into the royal fold.”
The so-called bromance between Irwin and Prince William first made headlines when Irwin appeared as a guest on the Tuesday, June 24, episode of Scott Mills’ BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show. William had a warning for Scott. “Just beware, Scott. Robert likes to pull random terrifying animals and creatures out of his pockets while he’s on anyone’s show and talking to them,” William said in jest. “Just watch your back at all times [so] that a tarantula or something doesn’t suddenly pop onto your desk.”
Later, Irwin spoke about his relationship with Prince William with People. “I talk to him about animals, and like, he is on it. He knows exactly what’s going on. In most conversations I have with His Royal Highness, I learn something. I really do,” he said. “It’s this genuine sense of passion. I love that passion. Like that’s what I seek. I seek out people that feel like kindred spirits, you know? So it’s really awesome. Really is.”
This is all coming after The Daily Beast reported that, according to a friend of William, “He absolutely f—ing hates” his brother Harry, with the same source saying that, “William will never, ever forgive Harry for what he has done. Charles is the king; he can do what he likes. But make no mistake: William believes with every fiber of his being that giving Harry and Meghan back any royal imprimatur is a huge mistake.”
Looks like Prince William and Prince Harry won’t be making up anytime soon. William has other people to talk to and lean on these days.
