Meghan Markle might have sent her well wishes to Queen Camilla from Montecito. The Duchess of Sussex posted a cryptic post about birthdays on her social media accounts, prompting royal fans to see if the royal family is one step closer to reconciliation.

On July 17, 2025, Meghan Markle posted a video of a wooden basket containing three bottles of her As Ever rosé on her Instagram story. She wrote in the caption, “Sending birthday love (both near and far) to my ladies.” The post raised questions after the date of it coincided with Queen Camilla’s 78th birthday. The Queen consort celebrated with a new portrait to mark the special day.

The questionable post comes a week after King Charles and Prince Harry’s senior aides held a secret meeting, according to The Mail on Sunday. This would mark the “first step towards reconciliation between Harry and his father, but at least it is a step in the right direction.”The talks were held in London. “There’s a long road ahead, but a channel of communication is now open for the first time in years,” said a source. “There was no formal agenda, just casual drinks. There were things both sides wanted to talk about.”

Harry was represented by Meredith Maines, his chief communications officer and head of his household in Montecito. The King’s communications secretary, Tobyn Andreae, the King’s communications secretary and Liam Maguire, who runs the Sussexes’ PR team in the UK were also present.

The events also line up with the fact that Prince Harry said in a BBC interview in May that he wanted reconciliation. “There’s no point in continuing to fight anymore,” he said. “Life is precious. Forgiveness is 100 percent a possibility because I would like to get my father and brother back.”

Hope is not at all lost when reports came out King Charles and Prince Harry might actually be able to fix their relationship in a couple years time. Prince Harry is reportedly inviting his family to the next Invictus Games, which are set to be held in the UK in 2027 and reports that the King had factored not only Prince Harry but Meghan Markle and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, into the heart of his funeral plans.

The update to reconciliation will be a good outlook for the future of the royal family. “From a positive private family stance, some personal healing between father and son would be good,” British broadcaster and photographer Helena Chard told Fox News Digital. “King Charles will always love his son, and, in light of the king’s ongoing cancer treatment, it could help tidy up the messy, fractured relationship.”

Chard said this was especially true considering the circumstances. “King Charles is living with cancer, which makes his family situation very sad,” Chard pointed out. “I’m sure he is thinking about his mortality and reevaluating his life. He would not want a family feud tarnishing his positive contributions and memory. I’m sure he will also want to clear up unresolved issues or surprises that could lead to further resentment and conflict between his two sons.”

However, things might not slide with Prince William’s camp. The Daily Beast reported that according to a friend of William, “He absolutely f***ing hates” his brother Harry. That same source also told the outlet that. “William will never, ever forgive Harry for what he has done. Charles is the king; he can do what he likes. But make no mistake: William believes with every fiber of his being that giving Harry and Meghan back any royal imprimatur is a huge mistake.”

Royal insider Camilla Tominey previously reported that King Charles’ cancer is incurable after he allegedly refused treatment. “The talk now is that he may die ‘with’ cancer, but not ‘of’ cancer following a rigorous treatment program,” she revealed in The Telegraph. She also confirmed that King Charles’ 80th anniversary plans in 2028 are “tentative” due to his ailing health.

However, a royal aide said King Charles‘s health is on the up. He is dealing “incredibly well” with cancer, the anonymous insider told The Telegraph. “The thing you learn about this illness is that you just manage it and that’s what he does. Medical science has made incredible advances and I genuinely see no difference in him. As long as you just do what the doctors say, just live your life as normal as possible… that’s exactly what he is doing.”
