Hulk Hogan was one of WWE’s legendary wrestlers and catapulted the sport into households during the 80s.

His manager, Chris Volo, confirmed that the wrestler died at his home on July 24, 2025, in Clearwater, Florida, surrounded by family. Just weeks before his death, his rep denied to E! News that Hogan was in a coma. The rep confirmed “had problems with his back,” adding that he underwent neck surgery and the procedure “has indeed been successful.” The rep also told TMZ that he underwent a “little fusion procedure” in an effort to make him “feel a little better.”

He is survived by his wife, Sky, whom he wed in 2023, and his children, Nick and Brooke, from his first marriage to Linda Claridge.

How did Hulk Hogan die?

Hulk Hogan’s cause of death hasn’t been listed at the time of this article’s publication. TMZ reported that an emergency call for a “cardiac arrest” was called in the morning at his residence.

Ex-friend Bubba The Love Sponge’s YouTube channel, co-host Lummy claimed he was told of Hogan’s health: “Hogan’s not doing well. He can’t speak. His trachea or whatever was damaged and he’s having problems and it does not look good. It does not look at all.”

Hogan was candid about his health problems earlier in the year when he was on Jake Paul’s Impaulsive Podcast that he underwent more than a dozen surgeries in the past year.

His wife, Sky, also took to Instagram stories to talk about the rumors about him being on his “deathbed.” “No, he’s definitely not in a coma!” she wrote on July 7. “His heart is strong, and there was never any lack of oxygen or brain damage… none of those rumors are true.

She continued, ”He’s been recovering from a major four-level Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion (ACDF), which is an intense surgery with a long and layered healing process. If you look it up, you’ll see what the last six weeks have involved… not just for his spine, but also for his vocal cords, and the eating/breathing tubes that are clamped over during surgery. We’ve been in and out of the hospital to support that recovery.”

“So truly, there’s no need for the drama or panic some people try to stir up,” his wife concluded. “He’s healing, and we’re taking it one day at a time with love, strength, and patience.”
