Katy Perry May Be Moving on With a Politician Weeks After Claims Orlando Bloom Had a ‘Wandering Eye’ While They Were Together
Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom just recently broke up, and yet the two seem to be going their separate ways for real. Considering the two broke up before, for a while, and got back together, there was a certain level of interest in whether this was really definitive. But Bloom attended Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s wedding solo and partied it up, and now it seems Perry might also be moving on, and with a surprising name.
The singer and former Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, are reportedly hanging out. According to People, Trudeau and Perry stepped out for a meal together in Montréal on Monday, July 28. The two were seen eating at restaurant Le Violon, where they met with the chef during dinner and headed to the kitchen after their meal to thank the staff.

TMZ reports the two enjoyed cocktails and several dishes, including one that featured lobster. Sounds very date-ish.
Like Perry, Trudeau is recently separated. In August of 2023, he and his wife Sophie Grégoire announced they were splitting after 18 years of marriage. The couple shares 3 kids, Xavier, 17, Ella-Grace, 16, and Hadrien, 11.
In an Instagram post published in both English and French at the time, Trudeau wrote: “Hi everyone, Sophie and I would like to share the fact that after many meaningful and difficult conversations, we have made the decision to separate. As always, we remain a close family with deep love and respect for each other and for everything we have built and will continue to build. For the well-being of our children, we ask that you respect our and their privacy. Thank you.”
Katy’s breakup with Bloom has been even more public. There were reports that the negative reception of Perry’s latest album, 143, was a big reason for the couple’s unhappiness. “Katy was deeply frustrated following the reception of her new album,” People reported. “It made her very stressed. Orlando was understanding, but it did cause some tension.”
Other sources indicated Bloom didn’t exactly love Katy Perry’s Blue Origin space flight, with a source telling the Daily Mail. “He told her the whole thing looked ridiculous. He said it was cringeworthy. Embarrassing. This was in the middle of a fight, and it hurt her feelings.” That, plus reports of Bloom having a ‘wandering eye’ and checking out other women, after an old photo showed him doing just that with Kim Kardashian while Perry was next to him, might have been the end of their relationship.
Page Six‘s source even said about the two, “It’s over. They are waiting till her tour is over before they split.” Ironically, the two didn’t even make it to the end of Perry’s tour before they announced their split. However, everyone has been taking it with a grain of salt. Another source told Us Weekly, “It’s true they’re spending time apart. Their friends don’t know if they are permanently split…The first time they broke up it was about two years after they got together. It’s happened a few times, but they’ve always worked it out before.”
If there’s something that could prevent an eventual reunion, it might just be a new relationship. We’ll just have to wait and see if Perry and Trudeau continue to hang out.
