Gisele Bündchen is a mom again and is getting used to what that means all over again. The former supermodel and her new partner, Joaquim Valente, welcomed a baby in February. It was the third for Bündchen, who already has two kids from her first marriage with former NFL QB Tom Brady, and the first for Valente. And she and ex Brady have both had things to say about the new situation.

Bündchen recently spoke with Vogue France about how her routine has shifted. “Now that my little one is sleeping through the night, I’m back in control of my routine,” Bündchen said. “As any new mom knows, it’s incredible how much sleep — or lack of it — can change everything!”

“But once again, I feel truly grateful: being able to be home with my kids and enjoy every moment with them is priceless,” she added.

Her ex, Brady, in the meantime, also had things to say about parenting. And if those feel a little pointed at this time, well… that might have been the intent. The former NFL star got candid about parenting, writing in his 199 newsletter, “I think part of being a great father is being a great example of doing what it takes to take care of your family,” and adding, “I chose to do it by playing football.”

This is particularly noticeable considering Bündchen’s marriage to Tom Brady ended in October of 2022, with reports indicating Brady’s decision to announce his retirement from the NFL only to then change his mind was one of the main reasons for the split. At the time, the model even told Elle, “This is a very violent sport, and I have my children, and I would like him to be more present.”

“I’ve done my part, which is [to] be there for [my husband],” she continued. “I moved to Boston, and I focused on creating a cocoon and a loving environment for my children to grow up in and to be there supporting him and his dreams.”

Brady, however, seems to feel like he made the right decision. “Being a great football player didn’t make me a great dad, but how I became a great player certainly had an impact — from showing up day in and day out, to doing whatever it took to get better, be successful, be a role model, and to provide,” he added.

“You won’t be perfect. Nobody is. You will fail and disappoint people along the way,” Brady continued. “But if you stay committed to your goals over time, even when your priorities shift (which they do at times), then you can be confident that you are living a life of integrity and purpose.”

It’s been a while since these two went their separate ways. Bündchen has clearly moved on, with a new partner and a new son. Brady has also moved on, as he’s been linked to supermodel Irina Shayk and Sofia Vergara since the divorce. But there’s no doubt that the matter of their divorce is still a sore subject, one in which Brady would very much like to claim the upper hand. The question now, of course, is whether people will see it his way or not.
