Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are living a much different life now, away from the British royal family, than they were when they were still working royals. And though Prince Harry is reportedly trying to put an end to the feud with King Charles and even his brother, Prince William, that is unlikely to change. The couple has, after all, made the decision to settle in California and to live a life that has nothing to do with the royal duties Harry grew up with.
One of the things that has kept them in the eye of the spotlight, even in California, though, is their Netflix deal. Their collaboration with the streamer has produced With Love, Meghan, Polo, and a docuseries, Harry & Meghan. A second season of Markle’s lifestyle show is already filmed and set to debut later this year.

But is their Netflix deal now over? The answer is yes, as reports indicate the deal won’t be renewed when it expires in September. It’s part of the streamer’s changing strategy, and on par with what happened with the deal Netflix had with Former President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama. The couple signed a ‘first look’ deal afterwards, and the same thing is expected to happen with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
The deal hasn’t been widely reported so far. “When the Obamas moved from an exclusive deal to a ‘first look’ deal, Netflix issued press releases and made a huge fuss about it. It’s not the same with Meghan and Harry. They’ve barely even acknowledged it,” a TV insider told The Post.
However, reports also indicate Netflix has heavily invested in Markle’s As Ever line, so she’s expected to be in business with the streamer for years to come. The first batch of products, which included teas, honey, jams, rosé wine, and even flower sprinkles, sold out in minutes. The As Ever deal has no expiration date. “They’re NOT done, they have plenty coming up together,” a source told Page Six.
“I cannot imagine that Meghan and Netflix went into business together just for a year or two.” The outlet also reported that the deal is separate from the TV deal.
This all comes as celebrity gossiper Rob Shuter reported that the couple had to let go of a number of their staff. “This isn’t strategy — it’s survival,” one source told him. “They’re running out of money, and now they’re running out of people.” Another source added. “They don’t have the money to keep the team they built,” the source said. “They tried to recreate the royal court — but California doesn’t do crowns on credit.”
But Meghan Markle’s lifestyle show, With Love, Meghan, will reportedly continue to give the couple money. As Netflix recently added an ad-supported subscription tier, a source said, “They’re working with advertisers now, which gives them more opportunity to have mutually beneficial partnerships like this.” The show will return for a second season in September, and though the first season didn’t crack the streamer’s top 300 most-watched titles in the first half of 2025, that doesn’t mean it’s over.
“I would not be surprised if it returns for a third season,” an industry insider noted, pointing out the show did make the top 5% of shows on the streamer.
The Netflix deal might be over, but there’s reportedly more to come from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. And that might even include a reconciliation for Prince Harry and King Charles.
