When you split with someone, you expect the people closest to you to take your side. Even if the split was amicable, and there aren’t really sides. But the breakup between Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom feels like it’s getting messier by the minute. And now, Bloom’s ex, Miranda Kerr, is involved.
The mess isn’t just about the reasons they broke up, with suggestions that he had a wandering eye. It’s also about the fact that Bloom attended Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s wedding solo. Oh, of course, and the fact that Katy Perry seems to have moved on already, with Justin Trudeau, Canada’s former Prime Minister, no less.

Now, Bloom’s ex, Miranda Kerr, has given a clear sign of support for Katy Perry amid her recent split. In a July 29 photo dump, captioned “summer so far,” the model included a video of her at one of Katy’s Lifetimes tour concerts, which she attended with fellow model Amélie Tremblay. In the video, Perry is singing “California Gurls.”
Kerr shares a son with Bloom, 14-year-old Flynn. She also has three other kids with her husband, Evan Spiegel. Meanwhile, Perry and Bloom share one daughter, 4-year-old Daisy Dove. And Kerr has spoken about coparenting with Bloom and Perry over the years.
“Co-parenting with Orlando and Katy is something that I feel really happy about,” Kerr told Vogue Australia in 2022. “From day one, when Orlando and I decided to separate, I said, ‘Listen, whatever we do, we have to put Flynn’s needs first, not our own.’ That’s the way we make our decisions. Family is my number one priority.”
Not just that, the model has developed a close bond with Perry. Enough that in 2023, both her husband Evan and Perry presented her with the Excellence in the Arts award at the G’Day USA Arts Gala.
“We’re family and they know me the best and the most intimately,” Miranda told E! News at the time. “Katy said she would be thrilled to do it, so it’s incredible.”
Perry also gushed about her during the presentation. “Many of you may be confused as to why I’m presenting Miranda with this award,” she said. “It doesn’t fit the ex-wife, new wife narrative. Many in the media would like to see us mud wrestle…but this is about love, and Miranda is love.”
The singer has been hanging out with Trudeau recently, with the two spotted sharing a meal and cocktails in Montreal, and the politician was photographed attending Perry’s concert just a few days after. Trudeau separated from his wife in 2023. There has been no confirmation from either of them that the relationship is anything other than platonic, but the combination of a dinner and Trudeau attending Perry’s concert is giving new relationship vibes.
How Orlando Bloom feels about that, we don’t know. But Miranda Kerr seems to be supporting Perry no matter what. And considering the messy family situation they’re all in right now, that’s probably a good thing.
