Orlando Bloom Seen on Cute Lunch Date After Report ‘Humiliated’ Katy Perry Is Considering Ending Their ‘Friendship’ Over Justin Trudeau
Breakups are complicated, and the phase after, as people try to move on, can also be complex. This is even more so with celebrities, because everything they do is scrutinized. Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom only recently broke up, and we’ve already heard details about Perry’s possible new relationship with none other than former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. And now it seems Bloom is moving on, too. Just not exactly the same way Perry is.
Bloom was spotted leaving the San Vicente Bungalows in West Hollywood on August 12 with his dog, Biggie Smalls via Hola! The dog is a teacup poodle that Bloom adopted last year and has gushed about. While appearing on The Tonight Show, Bloom referred to him as his “real emotional support animal,” adding, “I’m very emotional right now.”

So, not exactly a new romance, but Bloom is indeed keeping busy. However, his ex-Katy Perry, surely has him beat. She was first spotted having dinner with Trudeau, who later attended her concert in Montreal. According to Us Weekly, the two were “definitely on a date” and had been talking for weeks prior. However, People reported Perry is taking it slow.
“They are interested in each other, but it will take a while to see where this goes. She is traveling around the world, and he is figuring out his life now that he is no longer the prime minister of Canada. But there is an attraction—they have a lot in common.”
“Justin is charismatic and has great energy, which is exactly what Katy wants and needs at the moment,” another source told Entertainment Tonight. “For now, things are just casual.” The relationship has, reportedly, affected things between Perry and Bloom. In fact, the source said, things “still aren’t great” and “their relationship is a bit awkward and strained.
OK! UK reportedly recently reported that Perry felt “humiliated” after Bloom threw shade at her romance with Justin Trudeau by responding to an Onion article claiming there was now something going on between him and Angela Merkel with clapping emojis.
“Katy feels very let down and humiliated by Orlando, but she’s also realising that he wasn’t the right person for her. He’s showing his true colours and it’s really very hurtful and spiteful to her, especially as it probably means the end of any possible friendship with him in future,” the insider said. “She hoped they’d both be mature after the break-up so she’s feeling really disappointed.”
Perry and Bloom split after nine years together in June 2025. They share one child, four-year-old Daisy Dove Bloom. That, in and of itself, means the two will have to find a way to get along or at least co-parent going forward. But it’s normal to see people on different sides of the divide at the beginning, especially if one half of the former couple is moving on much more quickly than the other.
Bloom briefly sparked rumors of a romance with Sydney Sweeney after he was seen on a stroll with her while attending Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s wedding, but sources soon confirmed Sweeney was still single. So Bloom will have to keep looking, all while trying to maintain a cordial relationship with Perry.
