It’s been quite a year for Prince William and Kate Middleton. One could say it’s been a year of change and a year of adjusting after Middleton’s cancer diagnosis, then her remission and the balancing act that’s been for the two of them and for the family, having the adjust to the after. It is, of course, much better to be healthy, but as Middleton herself has discussed, there’s still an adjustment period. Plus, to that, they’ve had to add the fact that King Charles is still sick and that William’s relationship with his brother, Prince Harry, is still fractured.

And now, there’s the fact that they’re relocating from what’s been their home for the last few years, Adelaide Cottage. The family is set to move to the eight-bedroom Forest Lodge in Windsor Great Park. “Windsor has become their home. However, over the last few years, while they have lived at Adelaide Cottage, there have been some really difficult times,” a source told NBC News.

“Moving gives them an opportunity for a fresh start and a new chapter; an opportunity to leave some of the more unhappy memories behind. This is a move for the long term. They see it as their forever home,” the source added.

Prince William, Kate Middleton, and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, first moved to Adelaide Cottage three years ago. The move is believed to be inspired by a desire to start fresh, after what Prince William recently described as “brutal” and “the hardest year in my life,” following cancer diagnoses for both Kate Middleton and King Charles.

Middleton recently spoke about her cancer recovery with patients and staff members of the NHS. “You put on a sort of brave face, stoicism through treatment,” she explained while talking about the post-recovery stage. “Treatment’s done, then it’s like, ‘I can crack on, get back to normal,’ but actually, the phase afterwards is really, really difficult.”

“You’re not necessarily under the clinical team any longer, but you’re not able to function normally at home as you perhaps once used to,” she explained, adding that having support during this stage is crucial. “And actually, someone to help talk you through that, show you, and guide you through that sort of phase that comes after treatment, I think is really valuable.”

The Princess of Wales has reportedly been doing better, but there has been growing concern about Middleton’s weight lately. “Kate is painfully thin, and people are worried it’s a sign that she is struggling with her recovery from cancer treatment – or worse, she’s had a relapse,” a source told RadarOnline.

Reports indicate Middleton weighs around 90 pounds, far below a healthy weight. “She’s been through so much, and she wants to be there for the royal family and do her part, but clearly she’s not well,” the source added. “Word is she’s having a difficult time and has no appetite and is losing weight as a result. She’s gaunt and has little to no muscle tone. Kate always had an athletic figure, but she’s far from it now.”

Hopefully, a new home and a fresh start will be good for her.
