Meghan Markle Reportedly ‘Convinced’ Taylor Swift ‘Wrecked’ Her ‘Comeback Moment’—the Singer ‘Took All the Oxygen Out of the Room’

According to reports, Meghan Markle expected the trailer for With Love, Meghan to dominate the conversation when it was released. Then, Taylor Swift appeared on Travis and Jason Kelce’s New Heights podcast to announce The Life of a Showgirl, and the conversation became all about her.
The last part isn’t all that surprising. When Taylor Swift does anything, she commands attention. But did anyone really expect Taylor Swift to do a podcast, when she never had before, much less announce an album? The answer is, of course, no. So, when she did both those things, she, of course, became the center of every conversation. And according to an exclusive report by Rob Shuter, this was upsetting to Meghan Markle, who expected more eyes on the second season of With Love, Meghan.

A source told Shuter, “Meghan thought her trailer would own the news cycle.” The source also said, “Then Taylor’s announcement came in like a wrecking ball. Meghan’s convinced it wasn’t just bad luck.”
“She saw this as her comeback moment, then Taylor took all the oxygen out of the room.”
The report also indicates that Markle’s planned holiday special may overlap with Kate Middleton’s “Together at Christmas” concert. “She’s trying to spin it as unfortunate timing,” the source claimed, adding, “But Meghan likes being the headline. This week, she wasn’t.”
When reports initially surfaced that Markle’s holiday special might overlap with Middleton’s concert at Westminster Abbey, royal expert Hugo Vickers told RadarOnline.com the move was “brutal,” adding. “Obviously, the initiative of the Princess of Wales at Westminster Abbey is incredibly moving and incredibly special, and is done for the benefit of the rest of the world, for all the people who’ve been suffering, all the people who’ve helped with charities, all that sort of thing, so it’s all for the public good,” he said, claiming Markle’s holiday special isn’t anywhere near the same.
Reports also indicated this might put a damper on the possible reconciliation attempts between Prince William and Prince Harry, though other reports have indicated the brothers might actually find a way to put their issues aside, considering King Charles’ health issues.
Taylor Swift announced her new album, The Life of a Showgirl, during an appearance on the New Heights podcast. She also just spent two hours chatting away with her boyfriend, Travis, and his brother Jason about everything from the Eras Tour, her new love for football, how she and Travis got together, her re-recordings, how she got her music back, and a lot of other topics she had never really discussed before.
Swift and Markle have never been seen together, and there have never been reports about the two being friends or having any particular beef, though Markle was part of Suits around the same time Swift was getting popular in Hollywood, which makes it likely they could have crossed paths.
