Recent reports that Prince Andrew has joined the royal family at Balmoral for the annual summer break indicate relationships are not as strained as they could be, despite the recent revelations of Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York by Andrew Lownie. But that might just be true of King Charles. Some reports indicate Prince William is still very much not a fan of his uncle, and if it were up to him, his uncle would not be around.
According to Rob Shuter, Prince William has cut off “all contact” with Andrew. Considering William will be King one day, this makes his return to public life one day next to impossible. A source told Shuter that William is clear that he “doesn’t want” his uncle “anywhere near his children.”

“William doesn’t want Jeffrey Epstein’s best friend anywhere near his children,” one royal insider revealed.
But it’s not just that, it’s that William reportedly sees Keeping Prince Andrew away as part of his duty. “There’s no way back for Andrew,” another source said. “William has drawn a line in the sand — and his uncle is on the wrong side of it.”
The Prince Andrew biography, Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York by Andrew Lownie had given details about the rift between the two, indicating that the rift had come about because Andrew had said “rude” and “unkind” things about Kate Middleton. “I can’t see how anyone could make unkind comments about Kate when she’s been the family’s saving grace,” Lownie told Radar Online. “It surprised me, but people do get jealous,” he added. “I’d have thought Prince Andrew would respect William as future king, though,” rather than being “nasty about his wife.”
Ironically, Andrew also seems to have issues with Prince Harry. Recent reports indicate “punches were thrown” during an altercation between the two in 2013. According to Lownie’s book, “Harry got the better of Andrew” and left him with a “bloody nose.” Later, Andrew reportedly also expressed his disapproval of Harry’s relationship with his now-wife, Meghan Markle. He reportedly told his nephew was going “bonkers” for marrying Markle and said the marriage would “not last more than a month.”
The biography is also filled with all other kinds of salacious revelations, like the claim that more than 40 women were once brought to the Duke of York‘s hotel during a stay in Bangkok in 2006. He was there representing the crown at the King of Thailand’s diamond jubilee.
The Telegraph recently reported that William understands “something still needs to be done” with Prince Andrew, and has a plan in place to do so. He is set to ban his uncle from his coronation, remove his Order of the Garter, and strip him of his “Prince” title.
Royal biographer Christopher Wilson told the publication, “I think to a large extent Charles has adhered to that as a safe policy—the moment you start tearing the family apart, where does it stop? With William, it will be a different approach—he has hard-nosed ideas about how the Royal family needs to appear in the frenzied social media world we now inhabit, and I think will be ruthless.”
