Taylor Swift Officially Sets Wedding Date as Her 1st 2 Celebrity Guests Are Finally Revealed
Wedding bells are ringing in the distance. Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are happily engaged, but the next big question is when their fairytale wedding will be.
The “Lover” singer and NFL player posted engagement photos in a collaborative Instagram post. “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨,” they wrote on a post posted on August 26, 2025. Travis Kelce’s dad, Ed, revealed that his son actually popped the question “two weeks” before the post went viral. “He was going to put it off till this week. I think she was getting maybe a little antsy, but he was going to put her off till this week, to, you know, make some grand thing, to make it a big special event,” Ed said in an in an interview with News 5’s John Kosich,. “And I told him repeatedly, you know, you could do it on the side of the road, do it any place that makes it a special event … when you get down on one knee and ask her to marry you.”
Ed continued: “He got her out there, they were about to go out to dinner, and he said, ‘Let’s go out and have a glass of wine’ … they got out there, and that’s when he asked her, and it was beautiful.”

There’s no doubt that wedding planning is underway, but has a date been set in stone?

While an official date hasn’t been announced for the couple’s wedding, Rob Shuter reported that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce officially locked in a date for the wedding. “This isn’t a maybe anymore,” one insider said. “It’s happening. The date is set.” Another added, “The planning is military-level precise. Taylor doesn’t want surprises — and Travis is fully on board.”
As for who’s on the guestlist, Jimmy Fallon and Stephen Colbert are expected to be invited. Swift hinted at Graham Norton’s invitation to her nuptials after the host asked her for more details on the wedding when she appeared on The Graham Norton Show. Swift slyly told Norton, “You’ll know.”
Months before the proposal, Travis talked about how NFL logistics prevented several weddings from happening in specific seasons.
“I actually don’t know people who’ve gotten married in the fall because all the weddings I’ve been to and all my friends always do it in the summer,” he told his brother Jason during a January episode of New Heights. “You gotta be willing to find a weekend where the team isn’t playing anybody good maybe.”
“Also, if you really do have a problem with that, maybe it’s in her best interest to not have it in the fall so that she knows you’re invested in the anniversary every time it comes around,” he said. Taylor and Travis hardlaunched their relationship in September 2023, when she came to support him at one of the Kansas City Chiefs’ games.
“I’ve seen weddings in f—ing February. I’ve seen weddings everywhere but the fall. So I’m not sure if the fall was a good wedding season,” he concluded.
Fall and Winter might not be in the couple’s favor either. Taylor is amping up her release of The Life of a Showgirl on October 3, 2025, and Travis is gearing up for a big season with the Kansas City Chiefs. The tight end is aiming for a big comeback at Super Bowl LX after losing this year, and after a bunch of easter eggs in her appearance in New Heights, Taylor is speculated to be the Super Bowl Halftime performer. They have a busy year ahead, but we’ll be waiting for those gorgeous wedding pics!
