If it feels like the drama involving Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson has been going on for decades, it’s because it has. From their fairytale wedding, to their shocking divorce, to his own scandals separate from her including his close friendship with Jeffrey Epstein, to end up where they are now, seemingly great friends and somehow living together, though not reportedly not romantically involved. It’s a lot to take in.

And that’s for us on the outside. How does King Charles feel about it, as Prince Andrew’s brother? Reportedly, all is well there. The Daily Mail’s Ephraim Hardcastle column even reported that, as the mother of princesses, she is “held in respect” by the King.

This is quite a change for Fergie, who, after she was photographed having her toes kissed while still married to Prince Andrew, was reportedly no longer invited to family gatherings. It was said that Prince Philip even vowed never to be under the same roof as her again. A little ironic considering that, according to Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York, the biography that’s had everyone talking about the former couple, it was Andrew who cheated first.

According to author Andrew Lownie, Prince Andrew slept with “more than a dozen women” in the first year of his marriage to Sarah Ferguson. And she found out about it rather quickly, too, realizing she was destined to be a “shore widow” with her husband out at sea most of the year. Lownie claims this is the reason the Duchess of York started having affairs herself.

Prince Andrew spent approximately 250 days a year away at sea during the early years of his marriage, meaning he saw very little not just of his wife, but also of his daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. Andrew and Sarah Ferguson separated in 1992 and divorced in 1996.

Both their indiscretions seem to be a thing of the past, if King Charles’s actions are to be believed. The two were, after all, invited to join the King and Queen Camilla at Balmoral for the Royal Family’s annual summer break. They are reportedly staying at Craigowan Lodge, a seven-bedroom property half a mile from the King’s residence.

Though King Charles is reportedly on good terms with his brother, the same can apparently not be said of his nephews, Prince William and Prince Harry. And though Prince Harry has stepped away from the royal family, Prince William will one day be King, which is a complication for Andrew.

“Prince William has long had a strained and distant relationship with Andrew,” royal expert Hilary Fordwich told Fox News Digital, explaining he holds “a grudge against his disgraced uncle.”

“Andrew’s future within the royal family is beyond bleak, since Prince William is firmly opposed to any public rehabilitation with no foreseeable path back,” Fordwich claimed. “He wants Andrew to vanish from public view.”

That doesn’t seem to extend to Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, Andrew and Fergie’s daughters, but what Sarah Ferguson’s relationship with Prince William is or can be remains a question. For now, we know Fergie and Charles actually do get along. Who would have thought?
