King Charles and Prince Harry are reportedly really close to reconciliation. Aides from the two recently met, something which was widely considered a first step towards the two putting an end to their feud. And now, it seems like that’s finally happening. Though the reconciliation between father and son doesn’t necessarily mean the family issues are over.
Prince Harry and King Charles are reportedly set to reunite next month in the U.K. The Duke of Sussex will be in London on Sept. 8, which just so happens to be the anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s death, for the annual WellChild Awards, and The Mirror is reporting there is “determination on both sides to make [a reunion] happen.”

“Nobody is pretending the wider family issues have been resolved, but this is about beginning with Charles and Harry,” the outlet also reported.
A few months ago Prince Harry had publicly pleaded for a reconciliation in a BBC interview, “I would love reconciliation with my family,” he said, adding that, “There’s no point continuing to fight anymore. Life is precious. I don’t know how much longer my father has. He won’t speak to me because of this security stuff [the Sussex family is entitled to in the U.K.], but it would be nice to reconcile.”
Now, that feels like it’s going to actually happen. The insider told The Mirror that “for the first time in a long time, there’s a genuine sense that reconciliation is within reach” especially because the two teams “have opened a line of communication.”
“There is every hope that father and son will see one another when the Duke returns to London in September after 20 months apart.” The two have reportedly not spoken since February of 2024.
But this, reportedly, doesn’t include Prince William. “As for Harry and William, though, any chance of reconciliation between them has been rejected out of hand,” the insider added.
King Charles, however, is moving ahead with his decision to mend fences with his son. RadarOnline reported that he’s not doing all that well. “He is now shuffling around with a cane – and hitting the bottle, and in particular whisky, to numb the pain and despair he feels.” The situation was even described as “a sad end for him,” with other sources saying “his health has deteriorated significantly in recent months.”
The King is reportedly “facing a tough, losing battle with his illness,” with the pain greatly influencing his cannabis use, on top of his alcohol use.
Despite the fact that Prince William and Harry don’t seem anywhere near close to reconciling, as Harry and King Charles do, news about the King’s health gives credence to a recent Parade report that indicated the King’s failing health might be the thing that finally brings the two brothers back together. “King Charles really isn’t doing well,” adding that, “It wouldn’t be surprising if William and Harry reconnected a bit more over this.”
“This could be the thing that pushes it to happen,” the insider concluded. And though it doesn’t seem like it’s happening now, with the King and Harry on better terms, it might just be a matter of time.
