Meghan Markle’s With Love, Meghan, has just debuted its second season on Netflix, and on top of giving people another glimpse at the Duchess of Sussex’s personal life, the show was low on controversy or drama. But how did it do numbers-wise? Did people tune in either way?

The answer is: not as much as they did for the show’s first season. On the latest Top 10 Shows report for the streamer, which tracks the week from August 25 to August 31, the show did not crack the Top 10 in the United States, the UK, or globally. Instead, other shows that were trending in those markets were HostageWednesday Season 2, Katrina: Come Hell and High WaterRaw: 2025Ms. Rachel, and Fit for TV: The Reality of the Biggest Loser.

In contrast, With Love, Meghan Season 1 reported 2.6 million views and 12.6 million hours watched a week after the show’s debut in March, making the Top 10 globally, in the UK, and in the US.

All of this is to be expected for a lifestyle show that has stayed away from discussions of the royal family and instead focuses on Markle hosting different celebrity friends. However, Netflix surely hoped her celebrity status would translate to more views. Particularly as the streamer has invested heavily in As Ever, the lifestyle brand by Markle.

Overall, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have collaborated with Netflix for shows: With Love, MeghanPolo, and a docuseries, Harry & Meghan. There has been no word on a possible third season of Markle’s lifestyle show, though a holiday special is expected to premiere in December. As Ever’s first batch of products, which included teas, honey, jams, rosé wine, and even flower sprinkles, meanwhile, sold out in minutes.

Recent reports had indicated despite the show not putting up big numbers, it was still a good bet for the streamer, which has just added an ad-supported subscription tier. “They’re working with advertisers now, which gives them more opportunity to have mutually beneficial partnerships like this,” a source told Page Six. “I would not be surprised if it returns for a third season,” they said.

All of this is good news for the couple, as recent reports have suggested they need the money. Celebrity gossiper Rob Shuter reported that the two recently let go of a number of their staff. “This isn’t strategy — it’s survival,” one source reportedly told him. “They’re running out of money, and now they’re running out of people.” He also reported another source as saying, “They don’t have the money to keep the team they built. They tried to recreate the royal court — but California doesn’t do crowns on credit.”

Markle recently spoke about the “fear” of running out of money a lot of people experience on her podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder. “So many women, especially, we’re taught to not even talk about money,” she said. “And there’s lots of guilt mentality surrounding having a lot.” She also added. “At the same time, there’s a scarcity mindset that it’s easy to attach to, of like ‘I’ll never have enough.’”

For now, it seems she and Harry are doing well, even if the new season of her show hasn’t cracked the Netflix Top 10.
