Nina Dobrev May Have Hinted at Shaun White Cheating on Her With ‘Other Women’ Right Before They Ended Their Engagement

The plot thickens! Less than 24 hours after news broke of Nina Dobrev and Shaun White’s breakup, fans are speculating that The Vampire Diaries star secretly hinted at her ex cheating on her.
Did Shaun White cheat on Nina Dobrev?
Fans think that Dobrev hinted that White cheated on her in a TikTok posted five days before news broke of their split. “How do you sleep at night knowing that people don’t like you?” asks the voice of a woman, as Dobrev lip syncs the response: “With no underwear in case they want to kiss my ass.”
“What’s your advice for women trying to fix their man?” the woman’s voice asks, as Dobrev lip syncs: “Listen, Bob the Builder. He’s got 10 other women trying to fix him too and you look like a damn construction crew.”
“fumbling nina dobrev is diabolical,” a user wrote on Dobrev’s TikTok. Another commented, “you were too pretty for him anyways.” Other users speculated that Dobrev’s TikTok was a hint that White cheated on her. “omg, he cheated,” a user wrote. Another user commented, “cheating on Nina Dobrev is diabolical!!!!” One more user wrote, “ohhhhhh. he fucked UP.” Another added, “If he cheated, he is dumb af!”
At the time of writing, Dobrev and White still follow each other. News that Dobrev and White had ended their engagement after five years together on September 11, 2025. “It was a mutual decision, and wasn’t an easy one, but it was made with love and a deep respect for one another,” a source told People at the time.
A source told the Daily Mail at the time that the two split because they were at different stages of their lives. “Shaun is retired and has had his last Olympics, he was very ready for marriage and kids and all that comes from that,” the source said. “Nina was on board but also very interested in seeing where her acting career was going to go, as that was and is very important to her.” The insider also noted that White was focused on “being an entrepreneur after his snowboarding career finished up.”
The source continued, “He was gearing up to be a father and wanting that life. As much as they had the same ideals and wanted to enjoy the same ride, they naturally couldn’t come together on a common goal and that was the strain on their relationship.”
The insider also explained that the couple, who started dating during the COVID-19 pandemic, faced issues once they returned to the outside world. “They fell in love [during the pandemic] and thrived but once they got out, like many relationships both in the celebrity world and in the real world, something changed,” the source said. “The way people managed their lives, what they thought was important and everything in between became different. And all that takes a toll.”
The source continued, “They just kept living day in and day out and not growing as a couple.” The insider also claimed that the two got “stuck in their own ways.” “Yes, there was love there, they had an incredible time with each other, but since they weren’t nurturing what they had and growing it into something more, the most logical thing to do was to break up before they ended up hating each other or entering into a loveless marriage,” the source said, adding that it “wasn’t getting better” and that “they are both to blame.”
The insider continued, “They were smart enough to get out now while they still are young and while they still can move on from each other without any baggage.” Dobrev and White’s split also came less than a week after Dobrev seemingly didn’t wear her engagement ring during an appearance at 2025 Toronto International Film Festival.
