Prince Harry is one step closer to bringing his family back to visit the UK. After a successful reunion with his father, King Charles, the Duke of Sussex thinks there’s a clear path forward to have Archie, 6, Lilbet, 4, and Meghan Markle, 44, come back to his home country.

When asked by The Guardian if his UK sparked interest for him to bring his family back to the UK, Harry responded, “Yes I would. This week has definitely brought that closer.” Though it’s uncertain that the family would move back to the UK permanently, it marks a change in Harry’s previous decisions.

It has come a long way since he lost his security appeal in May, where Harry said that he couldn’t “see a world in which I would be bringing my wife and children back to the U.K. at this point.” He told the BBC, “They’re going to miss, well, everything.” “I love my country. I always have done. Despite what some people in that country have done.”

The last time Archie and Lilibet were in the UK was during Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee in 2022. “I miss the U.K., I miss parts of the U.K., of course I do,” he told the BBC in May 2025. “I think that it’s really quite sad that I won’t be able to show my children my homeland.”

However, things turned out to be quite positive during his short visit. “Yes, I have enjoyed the week. I have always loved the UK and I always will love the UK. It’s been good to reconnect with the causes I am passionate about,” he told The Guardian. The purpose of his visit was tos to promote the work of the Duke of Sussex’s Invictus Games Foundation. “I have been able to spend some time with people that I have known for so long. It is hard to do it from far away.”

Rumors of Harry and Meghan moving back to the UK sparked after King Charles’ former Butler Grant Harrold told The New York Post in August 2025 that Harry is “quite keen” for his children to have their education in his homeland. “It’s very likely and it’s completely possible because if they have their younger education in America, I’m sure their father will be quite keen to have a bit of a British education, but then it depends on how the relationship is with the rest of the family when the time comes,” Harrold said.

As for the reunion with Charles, it was an emotional meetup. A source told Us Weekly, “They were catching up personally about the children and what has been going on with Charles and his health,” the source said in reference to the monarch’s cancer battle.

There were reportedly “hugs and tears,” and the “mood was genuine and positive.” The source added, “Harry started crying and it was very emotional for both of them. They really missed each other.”

“I have certainly had to deal with some very stressful events over the last four years. There has been the uncertainty and stress of the litigation and finding out certain things that have really, really hurt.”
