Katy Perry & Justin Trudeau’s Relationship Takes Dramatic Turn After Report Orlando Bloom ‘Humiliated’ Her Right Before Their Breakup

Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau are seemingly back together less than a month after their breakup.
A source confirmed to Us Weekly in September 15, that Perry and Trudeau, who ended their romance around August 18, were back in communication but much more “private” about their relationship this time around. “They’ve decided to be much more private about it,” the insider said. “They are still speaking and are very interested in each other.” The source also noted that Perry and Trudeau’s relationship “isn’t serious” because she’s “extremely busy right now” on her Lifetimes Tour.
“Justin has made plans to see her when she has downtime in a few weeks when she gets back from her tour in Brazil,” the insider said. “Katy is taking it day by day but is very open to dating.”
The news comes after the Daily Mail reported that Perry and Trudeau’s romance had “cooled off” in August and their communication had “waned” following their first date public date in July. “She’s busy, he’s busy,” an insider said, adding that the two had previously texted “nonstop.” “They have a lot going on, and the newness has worn off.”
The source continued, “But there’s nothing negative about it. They just aren’t in constant communication anymore. That could change, but for now, it is what it is. It has cooled off.”
As for the reason for their split, the insider claimed that Trudeau had issues with him and Perry being photographed on their first date. “I know for a fact that Justin wasn’t thrilled about the pictures getting out,” the source said, adding that the politician was “not prepared” with the attention that came with the romance. “It was a first date. A first date! And these pictures came out and it became this huge thing, which is not what he seems to have wanted.” The source continued, “It can be a lot and it can be overwhelming.”
Perry and Trudeau’s split at the time also came after a source told OK! magazine that Perry felt “humiliated” when her ex-fiance Orlando Bloom, whom she broke up with in July 2025 after nine years of dating, reacted to an Onion article of him and former German chancellor Angela Merkel on a date with clapping emojis. According to the insider, Perry interpreted the response as shade toward her romance with Trudeau.
“Katy feels very let down and humiliated by Orlando, but she’s also realising that he wasn’t the right person for her. He’s showing his true colours and it’s really very hurtful and spiteful to her, especially as it probably means the end of any possible friendship with him in future,” the insider said. “She hoped they’d both be mature after the break-up so she’s feeling really disappointed.”
