Ever since Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez got married in a lavish wedding in Venice, one attended by a who’s who of celebrities, people have been wondering what’s next for Sánchez in particular. For a while there, rumors swirled that her new husband would purchase Vogue for her, though that always seemed more speculation than reality. But now, it seems like Sánchez has other things to keep her busy—and one of them is a passion for writing.

Sánchez has announced a new children’s book, The Fly Who Flew Under the Sea. The book is meant to feature more adventures from Flynn, the curious fly from her first book, The Fly Who Flew to Space, which was released in 2024. It will follow Flynn this time on an underwater journey, while he learns all about marine life and how precious and endangered oceans are, and is set to be released on March 3rd, 2026.

“Flynn is brave and not afraid to get a little lost chasing curiosity. This time, Flynn dives under the surface to discover a world we don’t see enough and one that needs us,” Sánchez said about the sequel. The book will be published by The Collective Book Studio and distributed by Simon & Schuster.

And of course, there’s a tie to her husband’s endeavors, which Sánchez remains very much involved with. “Here’s the beautiful symmetry: as we reveal the book, the Bezos Earth Fund is announcing a $37.5 million grant to help protect the Pacific and safeguard 835,000 square miles of ocean,” Sánchez Bezos also added. “I’m proud that a story kids will love can sit right next to real action for the planet.”

The new announcement for Sánchez comes after a new update on the legal battle Sánchez and Bezos are involved in with her estranged brother, Michael SánchezPage Six reported that their legal team filed a motion in California Superior Court demanding that Michael Sánchez pay $182,374 in attorney’s fees and $8,182 in legal costs, “incurred in connection with (1) her successful Special Motion to Strike, and (2) this Motion for Attorney’s Fees and Costs.”

It all ties back to the fact that reports of an affair between Bezos and Sánchez first surfaced while she was still married to Patrick Whitesell. At the time, there were fingers pointed at Sánchez’s brother for leaking X-rated photos from their private texts. Michael Sánchez adamantly denied being the source of the texts and photos, calling his sister and her new husband “liars and cheaters” and suing them for defamation. However, the Los Angeles County Superior Court ruled in Bezos’ favor. Bezos then asked for legal fees to be covered by Michael Sánchez.

Back then, Lauren Sánchez said in a statement to TMZ that her brother “secretly provided my most personal information to the National Enquirer — a deep and unforgivable betrayal. My family is hurting over this new baseless and untrue lawsuit, and we truly hope my brother finds peace.”
