Meghan Markle is getting praises all around Netflix. The steaming giant’s co-CEO, Ted Sarandos, revealed his true thoughts about her renewed Netflix deal and the success of With Love, Meghan Season 2.

On the Aspire with Emma Grede podcast, Sarandos called Prince Harry & Meghan Markle’s deal “successful in every measure.” He also praised the Duchess’ “remarkable influence” and praised her ability to sell out consumer goods with her As Ever line featured in her show.

Sarandos said, “One thing we learned early with Meghan… she has remarkable influence—remarkable. So when we did the documentary on her and Harry, the trailer, when we ran the trailer announcing it, people… hundreds of people… broke down every frame of the trailer.”

When the show’s second season premiered in late August, the Top 10 Shows report for the streamer reported that the show did not appear on the Top 10 during the first week in the United States, the UK, or globally. Instead, other shows that were trending in those markets were HostageWednesday Season 2, Katrina: Come Hell and High WaterRaw: 2025Ms. Rachel, and Fit for TV: The Reality of the Biggest Loser.

Despite the numbers, the couple is being strategic about their deal. “They’re working with advertisers now, which gives them more opportunity to have mutually beneficial partnerships like this,” a source told Page Six. “I would not be surprised if it returns for a third season.”

“We’re proud to extend our partnership with Netflix and expand our work together to include the As Ever brand,” Markle said in a statement about the new Netflix deal. “My husband and I feel inspired by our partners who work closely with us and our Archewell Productions team to create thoughtful content across genres that resonates globally, and celebrates our shared vision.”

However, unlike their original $100 million deal, the new deal is a first-look deal, which Barack and Michelle Obama have also signed with the company. According to royal expert Richard Eden, “It’s definitely a slap in the face. What Harry would want would be another deal he could boast to Oprah Winfrey about—how much it’s worth.” Speaking on the Mail’s Palace Confidential, Eden said: “Harry himself, in his interview with Oprah Winfrey, talked about how he needed money and he needed it quickly because of security and money being cut off from his father.”
