Pippa Middleton Accused of ‘Racy’ Incident Involving Kate & William as the Princess’ Sister Draws Backlash
Everyone knows that Kate Middleton and her sister, Pippa Middleton, are close. Though there’s been recent reports of a distancing between the sisters, all the rumors have been mostly about the kind of separation that happens when you get older and have your own family to take care of. But the two are still said to be close enough that Kate and William would attend a party thrown by Pippa, which is exactly what happened recently and has made headlines.
The Prince and Princess of Wales recently attended a party Pippa threw to celebrate her husband, James Matthews, on his 50th birthday. The party took place at the couple’s 145-acre estate in Berkshire. The team of the party was ‘racy’, a pun on Matthews’ love for motorsports. He is a British racing driver and a board member of the British F1 team Atlassian Williams Racing.

And the neighbors were, reportedly, not very pleased about the party, or about the level of noise it created. It all started in the afternoon with a Spitfire (World War II-era fighter planes) display over their house. Then, music from the party was heard until 1:30 a.m.
“I thought this might happen when Pippa moved in. People with money,” a local told People.
Other guests at the party reportedly included former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell-Horner and her husband, former Red Bull Racing Formula 1 team principal Christian Horner.
Ironically, Kate and William’s presence at the party in the first place seems to contradict recent reports about the relationship between the sisters. RadarOnline reported earlier in the year that the two were just not as close anymore, particularly because their lives “couldn’t be more different.” According to NewIdea, the Princess of Wales is reportedly “missing more and more of her old family” due to her royal duties, which has affected her relationship with everyone.
“Kate is painfully aware that things have been changing for a while. The pressures of her public role have only increased since Queen Elizabeth passed away, pushing her husband and kids up in the line of succession,” a source told the publication. “The unfortunate collateral of that has been losing the laid-back Middleton family way of things she holds so dear … especially her once incredibly close relationship with her little sister.”
Others had been saying from the beginning that the relationship was okay. “There has been no falling out between Kate and Pippa,” another royal insider said. “I don’t think that would ever happen. Of course, there are sometimes issues between sisters, but they have always had each other’s backs.”
That source explained that the two had “simply grown slightly apart” due to the fact that they’re not spending as much time together as they did when they were single and didn’t have kids. But that doesn’t mean there’s a problem between them. “Pippa and her husband are incredibly well-off and enjoy a private country life, whereas Kate is preparing her children to be the public faces of the monarchy. It’s chalk and cheese. I’m sure they still spend time together behind closed doors, but for now, it seems Pippa has no interest in stepping back into the spotlight alongside Kate.”
For one day, though, she could step back into the spotlight to celebrate her husband, alongside Kate and Wiliam.
