It looks like Prince Harry wasn’t a fan of President Donald Trump’s shade toward him in front of King Charles, Prince William, Kate Middleton, and other members of the British royal family.

During the Windsor Castle state banquet on September 17, which was a part of the president and his wife first lady Melania Trump’s three-day state visit to the UK, Trump seemingly shaded Harry in a speech, in which he commended Charles for raising William to be a “remarkable son” without mentioning anything about the heir’s younger brother.

“I just want to say that His Majesty has also raised a remarkable son in His Royal Highness, Prince of Wales. Really amazing,” Trump said.

A source told Radar Online in a report published on September 25 that Harry was “deeply unsettled” by Trump’s suspected dig as the Duke of Sussex worries whether the president could deport him from the United States. Currently, Harry lives in Montecito, California, with his wife, Meghan Markle, and their two children, Archie and Lilibet, after stepping down as senior members of the British royal family in 2019 and moving from the UK to the US.

“Harry definitely saw it as a deliberate snub. Seeing his family laughing along felt like a stab in the back. To him, it seemed as if they were cozying up to someone who has mocked him and Meghan for years,” the insider said. “He still lives in fear of what Trump might do – the possibility of being deported is something he can’t shake from his mind.”

A second source explained that Harry started to become concerned that Trump could deport him from the US after he admitted to using illegal substances such as cocaine and psychedelic mushrooms in his 2023 book, Spare, which led to a campaign by certain conservative groups to force the US authorities to publish Harry’s visa application and whether he disclosed his drug history.

“Harry is well aware of how exposed he is. If Trump decided to single him out, he absolutely could,” the insider said. “The calls for his visa application to be made public haven’t disappeared, and both he and Meghan are forced to live with that constant uncertainty.”

During a February 2024 press conference, Trump also confirmed tht he wouldn’t “protect” Harry if worse came to worst for the Duke of Sussex. “I wouldn’t protect him. He betrayed the Queen Elizabeth II. That’s unforgivable. He would be on his own if it was down to me,” Trump said at the time.

As for Trump’s state visit, another source claimed to Radar Online in a report published on September 25, 2025, that the president left his suite in Windsor Castle in a state of “total filth” after his state visit.

“It was takeout boxes, tanning sprays and hair products everywhere. The bathroom was littered with bottles, the sinks stained, and his bed sheets had been left completely orange from whatever he uses. People were horrified. This was Windsor Castle, not a roadside motel,” the insider said, adding that the royal family was “disgusted” by the state of Trump’s room.

Another source added, “No one could say no to him. If Trump wanted fast food at 2am, the Secret Service would fetch it. The room smelled of fries and fried chicken by morning. For staff who are used to military precision and spotless suites, it was beyond the pale.”

Other sources blamed Trump’s beauty routine for the mess. One recalled: “He had sprays and tubs of hair gel scattered across the bathroom. Tan wipes were in the bin, the towels were ruined, and the housekeeping team had to replace nearly everything. It was like a bomb had gone off in Selfridges’ cosmetics hall,” the insider said.

While royal staff were reportedly briefed on the time it took for Trump’s “distinctive” hair, the source added that “no one expected the trail it would leave” once he was gone.
