So often, perception is more important than reality. That is sadly the position Princess Beatrice finds herself in after the recent scandals her mother, Sarah Ferguson, and her father, Prince Andrew, have been embroiled in. That has sadly been her lot in life forever. Both her mother and her father have been in the middle of scandal after scandal her whole life. But the resurfacing of the name Jeffrey Epstein might have just put an end to any possibility of Princess Beatrice becoming a senior royal.

According to the Daily Mail, “Beatrice does want to be a working royal and she wants to do royal events to help her uncle [King Charles] because she’d enjoy them and she would be good at the job.” And this has not gone unnoticed by the King.

“Charles apparently appreciates this…There had at one stage been a feeling that Bea could have been lined up one day.” However, the scandals have now gotten so bad that this has apparently hurt her chances. “She’s never put a foot wrong, don’t forget—and she shouldn’t be punished for the sins of her father,” the source said. “But the King’s courtiers are concerned Andrew could try to ‘get in via the back door’ by exerting influence over her.”

Let us remember that Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson have both been in the news lately, Sarah Ferguson due to leaked emails published on the Mail on Sunday where she apologized to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein for publicly condemning him. Prince Andrew meanwhile, was recently confirmed to have visited Epstein’s Island. Andrew originally had to step down as a senior working royal over his ties to Epstein and his failure to sufficiently distance himself from him.

This has led to Princess Beatrice reportedly “losing all hope” of ever becoming a senior royal. Reports in recent months, however, had indicated the opposite.

“When William ascends the throne, Beatrice and Eugenie will be valuable assets, and I’m certain they will get involved with royal duties. It makes perfect sense, because he will need them,” Ingrid Seward, royal author and editor-in-chief of Majesty Magazine, had recently told Hello!.

“I see them as a sort of double act, working together in the same way as married couples do. Two gorgeous Princesses working together as sisters would be very powerful. I think it would be wonderful, and I think it will happen,” Seward added.

The sisters reportedly would have no problem doing more. “I think they would be open to doing more, because they like to give back,” the outlet also said. “They have always been close to William, and the King is very fond of them too.”

But there have been contradicting reports about this, too, particularly because Princess Beatrice has her own career outside of her royal duties. A former royal employee recently told the Express, “Beatrice has her own career, so I don’t see William making her a senior member of the working royals.”

For now, considering the Epstein drama surrounding her parents, that might just be a good thing.
