Nicole Kidman Reportedly ‘Reliving’ Tom Cruise Divorce Amid Claims Keith Urban Is Out to ‘Publicly Embarrass & Hurt Her’ by Dating a ‘Younger Woman’
The thing about the Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban divorce is that a lot of people have been rooting for Kidman to find happiness ever since her divorce from Tom Cruise. So, to see her, once again, filing for divorce is very sad. Particularly as new reports about Urban dating another woman and Kidman wanting to work on their marriage when he did not are coming out.
In between Urban changing the lyrics to one of his songs to fit his guitarist Maggie Baugh and reports about dating a younger woman, it’s been hard for fans not to draw a parallel between this situation and Kidman’s very public divorce from Cruise. And it seems like Kidman might be on the same boat. “Keith looks as if he’s out to try to publicly embarrass and hurt Nic,” a source told the Daily Mail. “This is a total 180 from the Keith I know. It seems like a switch has gone off in his head to awaken this vitriol he appears to have for her.”

“I feel so bad for Nic. It’s like she’s reliving her split from Tom [Cruise] all over again,” another insider told the outlet. Cruise famously filed for divorce from Kidman in 2001, two months before their 10th anniversary, and Kidman has been open about how that came as a shock to her. “I thought our life together was perfect,” she told Dujour magazine in 2012. “It took me a very long time to heal.”
Fast forward to now, and it seems like history is repeating, with Kidman reportedly first being willing to fight for the marriage before reports that Urban had already moved on. “It has been a very sad and frustrating week,” the source said. “With a very heavy heart she is going through all the emotions right now and realizing that it is actually over.”
Kidman recently made an appearance cut for the SS26 Chanel Runway Presentation for Paris Fashion Week. The actress was recently named ambassador for the brand. Alongside her were her daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14, and their cousin, Lucia Hawley.
Her appearance, in a white shirt and jeans, which some are calling the new revenge look, comes after TMZ reported there might already be another woman in Urban’s life. “All the signs point to the fact Keith is with another woman,” a source told the site. “Let’s just say, Nicole doesn’t dispute that, but she’s still shocked over it.” A source close to Kidman said, “It’s all over Nashville.”
“The rumor is that he’s with a younger woman in the business,” a “Nashville music industry source told Daily Mail. “It’s all everyone is talking about. Everyone wants to know who, but so far, that’s a mystery.”
Rob Shuter’s ShuterScoop reported that this was the final blow for Kidman. “Nicole wanted to fight for them, but Keith had already checked out—and she knew why. It wasn’t about distance, schedules, or bad habits. It was about another woman. And Nicole knows who she is.” Another insider told the journalist, “She’s not naïve. She heard the stories; she saw the signs. At some point, the truth becomes impossible to ignore. She’s not going to live as anyone’s second choice.”
