Keith Urban Reportedly Leaning on ‘Newly Single’ Country Star as ‘Shoulder to Cry’ on Amid Nicole Kidman Divorce
Divorce is hard, no matter if you’re the one leaving or the one left behind. And though reports indicate Keith Urban was the one to decide he wanted to end his relationship with Kidman and the one who has apparently already moved on, he is still leaning on friends to get through this time. Particularly one country star.
After reports that Urban had grown close to his guitarist, rising country star Maggie Baugh, he has now reportedly gotten close to another country star, singer-songwriter Kelsea Ballerini.

“It’s true he and Maggie Baugh have been working closely together, but he’s also still very close to Kelsea Ballerini, who’s also newly single,” an insider told Woman’s Day, with the outlet reporting the two have “crossed paths frequently over the years and maintained a supportive friendship,” to the point Ballerini has become a “shoulder to cry on” during this time.
Ballerini was, until recently, dating Outer Banks star Chase Stokes. The two split just last month after three years together. At the time, a source told People, “They’re two adults who gave it their all and tried to do everything they could to make it work, but ultimately couldn’t. It happens.” Ballerini was previously married to Australian country star Morgan Evans.
Urban and Ballerini have collaborated over the years, and Urban also has ties to Evans. The country world is pretty small, after all. Everyone kind of knows everyone. TMZ was the first to report that there was another woman in Urban’s life. “All the signs point to the fact Keith is with another woman,” a source told the gossip outlet. “Let’s just say, Nicole doesn’t dispute that, but she’s still shocked over it.” A source close to Kidman explained, “It’s all over Nashville.” Meaning someone like Ballerini would know and presumably reach out to Urban, even if just to offer support.
“The rumor is that he’s with a younger woman in the business,” a “Nashville music industry source told Daily Mail. “It’s all everyone is talking about. Everyone wants to know who, but so far, that’s a mystery.”
No one seems to be suggesting that woman is Ballerini. Though the reports indicate a split that was initially billed as a separation, with Kidman wanting to work on the marriage, has turned negative fast. According to People, “their split is turning dramatic,” with Kidman feeling “hurt and betrayed” by Urban. “Keith has not been honest,” the source added to the outlet. “She wanted to save their marriage and believed that she could, but it seems he’s already moved on.”
There are still no confirmed reports about who, exactly, Urban has moved on with. Kidman and her daughters were recently seen at the SS26 Chanel Runway Presentation for Paris Fashion Week, with the actress donning a new look that people have referred to as a revenge look. But we’ll have to wait for details as to what, exactly, she’s getting revenge for.
