Keith Urban’s Guitarist’s Suspicious Dating Comments Resurface Amid Nicole Kidman ‘Other Woman’ Rumors
Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban are divorcing. That much we already know. But the reasons behind the divorce, and whether the relationship was really salvageable until Urban decided otherwise, are just speculation. What has been reportedly over and over since the divorce filing, however, is that Urban has already moved. And that seems to be the answer to at least some of the questions.
But who is Urban dating? All eyes lately have been on Maggie Baugh, a rising country star and guitarist who has appeared with Urban. Why? Mostly because she posted a video of Urban changing the lyrics to the song “The Fighter” to fit her instead of Kidman, who he wrote the song for, right before the divorce was announced. Bad timing or a message? People have been wondering.

Neither Urban nor Baugh have directly responded, but now comments Baugh made years ago are resurfacing amid rumors she’s dating Urban. “There’s always been a rule you can’t date the band members because what happens if we break up?” Baugh, said in a video from a 2017 interview with Piper’s Picks.
The video sees Baugh explain that she won’t date her bandmates because that could ruin working relationships. “I mean, they’re all cute, don’t get me wrong, but I mean that the drummer has been the longest in my band. Like, he’s basically my brother,” she said at the time. “My bass player is basically my brother. Everyone in my band, I treat [them] like my best friend.”
Flash forward to eight years later and people are wondering if Baugh still feels the same way. And it all comes back to the song “The Fighter,” which Urban wrote for Kidman. At a show in April, Urban reportedly pointed at Baugh during the song as he sang, “I was born to love you.” He then changed the verse to mention Baugh directly, singing, “Maggie, I’ll be your fighter.”
It happened again a few months later, during a September show. The lyrics were changed from “When they’re tryna get to you, baby, I’ll be the fighter,” to “When they’re tryna get to you, Maggie, I’ll be your guitar player.”
Baugh shared a clip of Urban singing on her Instagram and captioned it, “Did he just say that 👀.” All these things considered, it’s easy to see why people believe she’s dating Urban.
Baugh’s father, Chuck Baugh, directly denied the rumors. He shared a TikTok video claiming that his daughter Maggie may “allegedly [be] the person responsible for Keith’s divorce from Nicole Kidman” via his Facebook, adding to the post the following commentary: “NO. Just No.”
Recent reports indicated Urban was dating someone new, and someone with a significant age difference. “The rumor is that he’s with a younger woman in the business,” a “Nashville music industry source told Daily Mail. “It’s all everyone is talking about. Everyone wants to know who, but so far, that’s a mystery.”
To make it even worse, Rob Shuter’s ShuterScoop, reported from a source that, “Nicole wanted to fight for them, but Keith had already checked out—and she knew why. It wasn’t about distance, schedules, or bad habits. It was about another woman. And Nicole knows who she is.” Another insider added, “She’s not naïve. She heard the stories; she saw the signs. At some point, the truth becomes impossible to ignore. She’s not going to live as anyone’s second choice.”
Whether Urban’s choice is now truly Maggie Baugh or not, we will have to wait to find out.
