Things for Prince Harry are moving in the right direction. He and his father recently met for the first time in over a year, and there is a sense that a reconciliation with his family might actually be possible now. But the wounds of the past few years exist, and moving on from them might take some time. And the Prince, who is very cognizant of mental health issues, probably understands that.
Prince Harry spoke about mental health issues for the men’s health charity Movember during the launch of a Movember Institute of Men’s Health report, which dug into the question of why men don’t often ask for help. The study showed that 53 per cent of men in the US are dying prematurely before their 75th birthday.

Harry said, “When I speak to men, the same struggles keep coming up, which tells me that the weight they carry isn’t uncommon. The biggest barrier is the belief that no one will understand. Loneliness convinces you you’re the only one, which is rarely true.”
The Prince also spoke highly of members of the military and first responders, saying: “They are the real superheroes.” The Duke of Sussex also added, “I found myself speaking to many veterans and, sitting down with them, I realised the silence is killing people. Stamping out the stigma globally, we’ve come a long way. Access to therapy is still a massive problem.”
All of this comes as reports indicate that there might be issues between Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, due to his exit from his longtime charity, Sentebale. This is, reportedly, because the two are not in sync about how to handle public controversy. According to Radar Online, “Harry feels completely deserted. Meghan’s sharing posts about everything except standing by him. He’s upset, isolated, and bewildered.”
But according to other sources, the approach is intentional. “This is a very delicate issue. Sentebale was Harry’s initiative from the beginning, and Meghan recognizes that. She’s staying quiet to prevent making things worse. She’s decided to back him behind the scenes instead of in public.”
Some indicate Prince Harry, perhaps, expected different. “Harry thought Meghan would stand up for him – she’s always been outspoken about her truth. Her choice to stay quiet this time has left him feeling vulnerable.”
This report, however, doesn’t seem to line up with previous comments from royal biographer Tom Bower, who told GB News that Harry has “separated himself” from Markle’s “crashing career.” If that were true, there would certainly be no hard feelings about the fact that she has continued that separation. But Bower had insisted that, though Harry had not become irrelevant since his move, he was still playing second fiddle to Markle.
“Well, he hasn’t, because when he comes here, he becomes a focus of attention. But of course, he is spare to Meghan or was, in her attempt to become the great television homemaker. But her series, her career, is crashing.”
Basically, Prince Harry gave a pretty good speech about mental health issues, one that doesn’t seem to be drawing from personal experience, as his marriage is probably just fine.
