Keith Urban shared some rare insights about his life on the road amid his divorce from Nicole Kidman. The country singer brings viewers along on his tour in the new CBS special series The Road, and shared his vulnerable emotions.
In a special preview provided by the Daily Mail, Urban says tour life is “is a calling, and you’re going to do it or you’re not going to make it. When you wake up on a tour bus at 3:30 in the morning and you’re sick as a dog, you’re in the middle of nowhere, and you’ve got to play your fifth show later that night, and you haven’t slept, and you miss your friends, and you’re missing your family, and you’re completely lonely and miserable and sick—and you say to yourself, ‘Why am I doing this?’ The only answer can be: Because this is what I’m born to do.’”
The preview comes heels after fans speculated that Keith Urban had moved on to his tour guitarist Maggie Baugh. All eyes were on her after she posted a video of Urban changing the lyrics to the song “The Fighter” to fit her instead of Kidman, who he wrote the song for, right before the divorce was announced.
The lyrics were changed from “When they’re tryna get to you, baby, I’ll be the fighter,” to “When they’re tryna get to you, Maggie, I’ll be your guitar player.”
Baugh shared a clip of Urban singing on her Instagram and captioned it, “Did he just say that 👀.”
Baugh’s comments also come right after it was reported that Urban had already moved on to another woman. “The rumor is that he’s with a younger woman in the business,” a “Nashville music industry source told Daily Mail. “It’s all everyone is talking about. Everyone wants to know who, but so far, that’s a mystery.”
Kidman filed for divorce on Sept. 30, 2025 after news broke that they were separated. Rob Shuter’s ShuterScoop, reported from a source that, “Nicole wanted to fight for them, but Keith had already checked out—and she knew why. It wasn’t about distance, schedules, or bad habits. It was about another woman. And Nicole knows who she is.” Another insider added, “She’s not naïve. She heard the stories; she saw the signs. At some point, the truth becomes impossible to ignore. She’s not going to live as anyone’s second choice.”
On her part, Kidman has been open about her feelings about growing old and the “devastation” that goes along with it, as seen in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar. “There’s something to knowing that no matter how painful, or how difficult, or how devastating something is, there is a way through, she told the . “You’re going to have to feel it. You’re not going to be able to numb it. You are going to have to feel it, and it’s going to feel insurmountable at times. You’re going to feel like you’re broken, but if you move gently and slowly—and it can take an enormous amount of time—it does pass.”
