Perhaps the biggest question surrounding Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s divorce is who, exactly, is the younger woman Urban has reportedly already moved on with. Thanks to a series of circumstances that occurred around the time the split was announced, people have narrowed in on one particular suspect: guitarist Maggie Baugh, who has toured with Urban.

But is Baugh the reason for Kidman and Urban’s divorce? It’s impossible to know for sure, though people are taking Baugh’s announced absence for Urban’s October 17 concert at Nashville at the Bridgestone Arena as a sign. She will be headlining a show in Carmel, Indiana, as part of her solo tour on the day. Does that mean she’ll return? TMZ reported that there are no plans for Baugh to rejoin the tour as she is not a primary member of Urban’s band.

Baugh and Urban first collaborated in 2024, when Urban asked her to perform with him at the CMT Music Awards. He reportedly asked her to join his band after that event. And with her recent absence in the middle of Urban’s divorce controversy and reports that she might not return, some feel like the circumstantial evidence of a possible relationship keeps piling up. Whether she was fired or decided to step back, it’s weird.

It all started when she posted a video of Urban changing the lyrics to the song “The Fighter” to fit Baugh. Ironically, that’s a song Urban wrote for his then-wife Kidman. And it didn’t just happen once, either. At a show in April, Urban reportedly pointed at Baugh during the song as he sang, “I was born to love you.” He then changed the verse, singing, “Maggie, I’ll be your fighter.”

During a September show, it happened again. The lyrics were changed from “When they’re tryna get to you, baby, I’ll be the fighter,” to “When they’re tryna get to you, Maggie, I’ll be your guitar player.” Baugh then shared a clip of Urban singing on her Instagram with the caption, “Did he just say that 👀.”

Amid the numerous questions, comments Baugh made years ago are resurfacing, and they point to this type of relationship being something she’s against. “There’s always been a rule you can’t date the band members because what happens if we break up?” Baugh said in a video from a 2017 interview with Piper’s Picks.

Baugh hasn’t addressed the allegations directly, but her father, Chuck Baugh, directly denied the rumors. He shared a TikTok video that claimed Maggie may “allegedly [be] the person responsible for Keith’s divorce from Nicole Kidman” via his Facebook, adding the following commentary: “NO. Just No.”

Speculation comes after reports that Urban has already moved on from Kidman. “The rumor is that he’s with a younger woman in the business,” a “Nashville music industry source told Daily Mail. “It’s all everyone is talking about. Everyone wants to know who, but so far, that’s a mystery.”

Other reports point to this new relationship from Urban being the reason his marriage fell apart. According to Rob Shuter’s ShuterScoop, “Nicole wanted to fight for them, but Keith had already checked out—and she knew why. It wasn’t about distance, schedules, or bad habits. It was about another woman. And Nicole knows who she is.” Another insider added, “She’s not naïve. She heard the stories; she saw the signs. At some point, the truth becomes impossible to ignore. She’s not going to live as anyone’s second choice.”
