The drama surrounding Prince Andrew has seemingly reached an inflection point, and that comes with a lot of interest in the reactions from the people close to him. After all, Andrew giving up his royal titles and honors is something that had been discussed, but no one really expected Andrew to be the one to make the decision. In fact, most people expected King Charles to have to make the final call, or if not, Prince William.
However, now that the King’s younger brother has given up his titles, how does the rest of the family feel? Royal expert and author Christopher Andersen said Princess Anne, who has been a close confidant and advisor to her brother Charles for a while, was likely involved in the decision.

“She is as fed up with Andrew as Charles and William are,” Andersen told Us Weekly, adding that the Princess Royal has “long sided with the King.”
Radar Online had recently reported that Andrew was annoyed by his older sister’s positive reputation. “Anne represents everything the monarchy is supposed to stand for – hard work and respect. For Andrew, who has lost all of that, it’s a bitter pill to swallow,” an insider said about the Princess Royal, who in 2024 carried out 474 official engagements, more than any other member of the British royal family.
Andrew had to step back from public life and was stripped of his military titles and the use of HRH due to his links to convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein. And there are even reports that won’t be the end of it—if King Charles doesn’t do it, then Prince William will once he’s King. Experts indicate William and Andrew don’t get along at all. British royal expert Hilary Fordwich even told Fox News earlier this year that the Prince of Wales has had a “grudge against his disgraced uncle” for some time and will make sure to he is completely out of the orbit of the royal family once he’s king.
RadarOnline.com also reported about Andrew and Anne’s relationship, “Anne never plays at deference, and people respect her for that. Andrew does the opposite and ends up ridiculed,” an insider shared. Another source added, “Anne doesn’t see leisure as important – she simply keeps working without fuss.”
It gets worse. “What stings Andrew is knowing Anne is praised as the family’s most respected royal, while his name is tied only to disgrace. It eats away at him,” the report said.
Proof of that respect is the role Princess Anne had during Queen Elizabeth’s funeral and King Charles’ coronation, where she rode on horseback as Colonel of the Blues and Royals. The source said, “Anne stole the show at the coronation – she was poised, authoritative, and real. Andrew couldn’t hope for that kind of moment now. It shows the gap between honor earned and honor thrown away.”
As for Princess Anne, she will likely continue dedicating her time to the institution she has worked for all this time, without really worrying about what her brother thinks about her.
