Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s relationship has always been pretty strange. Their marriage imploded over two decades ago, and yet the two remained friendly after and these days they even live together at Royal Lodge. Pretty progressive for a divorced couple that is reportedly not even romantically involved anymore. And the two have been there to support each other through many, many scandals. But is that now over?

RadarOnline.com is reporting that Ferguson is preparing to “turn on” Prince Andrew as the two face the consequences of their years-long relationship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. That includes being stripped of the Duke and Duchess of York titles and reportedly pressure to vacate Royal Lodge.

Ironically, the latest scandal isn’t even about Andrew, but about her. The former Duchess of York’s ties to Epstein run deep, and a leaked 2011 email showed her calling him a “supreme friend” and apologizing for publicly denouncing him. Those emails caused seven charities to remove Sarah Ferguson as patron or ambassador, according to the BBC. Those charities are Prevent Breast Cancer, the Teenage Cancer Trust, Children’s Hospice Julia’s House, the Natasha Allergy Research Foundation, the Children’s Literacy Charity, and the British Heart Foundation. It also reportedly was the reason she and Andrew are no longer invited to spend Christmas with the rest of the royals.

Now, reports indicate she might not stick by her ex-husband and the father of her two daughters during this trying time for both, with sources indicated she could be ready for what they called the “ultimate betrayal” that might damage their family forever. “Sarah’s always known how to look after herself,” a royal insider said. “If she’s forced to pick between protecting Andrew or protecting her own future, she’ll put herself first. She realizes this scandal could finish her off – and she’s not the type to go down without a fight.”

They added, “If that involves cooperating with authorities or doing highly-paid tell-all Netflix shows and books to betray Andrew for cash so she has a retirement fund, she will do it.”

And it’s not even about what has already come out, but what hasn’t, according to sources. “It’s obvious now that Sarah’s financial ties to Epstein lasted far longer than people realized. She’s deeply anxious about what could surface next – and she fears Andrew could take her down too. That’s why she’s preparing to point the finger elsewhere,” a source told the outlet.

Reportedly, Prince William, who will soon move with his family to Forest Lodge, which is near Royal Lodge, wants Andrew and Fergie out of their house. “William’s reached his limit,” the source explained. “He thinks keeping them at Royal Lodge damages the monarchy’s image. Charles has simply held back so far out of loyalty, but that has run out now.”

Of course, the problem with Fergie turning on Andrew at this point is they do have two daughters in common. “Beatrice and Eugenie are both financially stable, but there’s growing chatter that they might need to step in and help their parents,” a family associate revealed. “They adore them, of course – but even their patience is starting to wear thin.”

“Sarah’s playing a dangerous game,” a source added. “If she throws Andrew under the bus, it might save her career – but it could destroy what’s left of their family.”
