Ben Affleck Reportedly ‘Friends With Benefits’ With Famous Ex After Attending J-Lo’s Movie Premiere—There’s ‘Years of Love’
Ben Affleck has dated a lot of famous women in his time, even if we mostly remember him for dating two different women named Jennifer. And the actor has mostly maintained a cordial relationship with all his exes. Proof of that is that he was recently seen with J-Lo at her movie premiere, and that he has continued to be an involved co-parent with the mother of his children, Jennifer Garner.
Now, however, RadarOnline.com is suggesting that there might be something more going on with Jennifer Garner that meets the eye. According to the outlet, Affleck and his ex have entered into a “friends with benefits” arrangement. The two, who divorced in 2018 after 13 years of marriage, are parents to Violet, 19, Seraphina, 16, and Samuel, 13.

“Jen and Ben have always shared a really powerful bond,” a source reportedly told the outlet. “It’s built on years of love, trust, and family. Lately, that closeness has deepened – they’ve been turning to each other for comfort, and it’s naturally become something more intimate.”
Reportedly, reconciliation is not in the cards. “It’s not about them getting back together,” the source said. “It’s about finding comfort in someone who knows you completely. They’ve weathered addiction, divorce, and years of co-parenting – that kind of shared history creates a connection most people could never understand.”
The report is, at the very least, strange, considering Garner is engaged to businessman John Miller. The report does acknowledge that, but it doesn’t go into how weird a friends-with-benefits arrangement when you’re engaged with someone else sounds.
“She’s been completely honest with Ben about where they stand,” another source told the outlet. “There are firm boundaries – no staying over, no date nights, and no talk about what comes next. Jen loves John and still intends to marry him, but what she shares with Ben is something separate. It’s built on history and mutual understanding, not on trying to relive their marriage.”
Affleck previously dated Jennifer Lopez, two separate times. The two originally began dating in 2002 after meeting on the set of the movie Gigli. They got engaged for the first time in November of 2022, before breaking up in January 2004. Lopez went on to marry Marc Anthony, and Affleck to marry Jennifer Garner. In 2021, Affleck and Lopez rekindled their romance and got engaged for a second time in April of 2022. They then married in July 2022. In August 2024, Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck on the second anniversary of their wedding ceremony.
He also previously dated Gwyneth Paltrow, from 1997 to 2000. The two starred together in Shakespeare in Love and Bounce.
Reportedly, this new agreement with Garner is alright with Affleck. “Ben has more respect for Jen than anyone else in his life,” an insider said. “She’s stood by him through his darkest moments, and he trusts her without question. This setup lets them stay connected, but without mixing up the bond they have now with the relationship they used to share.”
