The Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson drama is reportedly taking a toll on King Charles. And he’s probably not the only one. Everyone in the family is, in one way or another, affected by what’s happening. But perhaps no one is more affected than Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. But what is King Charles’ relationship with them?
According to The Sun, the way things with Prince Andrew developed was reportedly as partly because the King was “protecting” his nieces by not stripping his brother of his titles. The outlet also reports that Andrew was “forcibly pushed onto his sword” by King Charles, who has reached a “tipping point” with his brother.

The King reportedly “led frantic negotiations” with his brother about what was going to happen, adding that “following crunch talks, Andrew, 65, finally fell on his sword and gave up his royal titles amid growing fury over the sex abuse scandal.” As expected, this wasn’t a decision Andrew made alone, but one that required him to be convinced.
But why not just remove Andrew’s titles? Because it would have affected Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie’s rights to use their titles, which the king is reportedly against. “The King was determined to avoid impacting Beatrice and Eugenie—who he has great affection for—it is believed.”
Former BBC presenter Jennie Bond pointed out to Sky News (per The Sun) that Andrew’s use of “we” instead of “I” in his official statement was significant. “This is a clear indication that extreme pressure has been put on Prince Andrew to do the decent thing and fall on his sword,” she said. “There’s no word of apology or contrition as he was forcibly lowered onto his sword. He has no self awareness.”
And if Andrew did indeed relinquish his titles, this, to Bond, means it was going to happen anyway. “If he hadn’t fallen on his sword, he would have been pushed very firmly onto it,” Bond said.
Sarah Ferguson, who is firmly in the middle of this scandal alongside Prince Andrew, is reportedly not taking what’s happening well. Speaking to Women’s Day, royal expert Phil Dampier said: “I’m told she has been on the edge of a nervous breakdown. I can reveal her older sister Jane has recently flown over from Australia to comfort her in the UK.”
Another insider told RadarOnline.com about the latest drama, “This revelation could be disastrous for Sarah – and Andrew,” adding, “She’s already been dropped as patron or ambassador from seven charities, and this bombshell dredges up Andrew’s friendship with Epstein just as he was likely hoping the scandal was dying down and he could attempt a come back to public life. And if their income is impacted, they could be forced to move from their shared residence of Royal Lodge, which supposedly requires over $500,000 in annual upkeep.”
Meanwhile, Dampier added, “She and Andrew know they are to blame but they still feel they are now being kicked mercilessly when they are down. It’s difficult to see what the future holds.”
According to reports, nothing good. British broadcaster and photographer Helena Chard told Fox News that William is prepared to strip Andrew of what’s left, the title of Prince.
“He recognizes the public animosity towards Andrew. He views him as a complete liability with his series of scandals, both past and present, shoveling shame on the family. His stance towards his uncle is tough. He will not entertain anyone toxic to the brand. Andrew will not be part of the streamlined monarchy.”
For now, though, this doesn’t and should not affect Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.
