If the British royal family had its way, it would be out of sight, out of mind for Prince Andrew. But even though Andrew just gave up the use of his titles and honors, hasn’t been a working royal for years and is reportedly not even being invited to spend Christmas with the rest of the family, there’s still a reason he will probably remain in the general consciousness, at least for now: the fact that he is still living at Royal Lodge. And not everyone’s happy about that.

Part of the issue isn’t just that Royal Lodge is a massive mansion; it’s also that it’s pretty close to Prince William and Kate Middleton’s new home of Forest Lodge. According to The Sun, however, the disgraced prince has some demands in order to vacate his current home. And they are big ones.

Andrew reported has “demanded” Frogmore Cottage, which used to be the home of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, for himself. Additionally, he wants his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, who lives with him at Royal Lodge, to be granted Adelaide Cottage, the home Prince William and Kate Middleton are about to move out of.

“No one is really sure how it’s going to go down at the Palace yet,” a source told The Sun. “Andy is willing to leave, but these are his demands. He is realistic and knows the writing is on the wall and that his time at Royal Lodge is up. If he must go then he has asked for Frogmore Cottage. Incredibly Sarah has said she wants Adelaide Cottage. Sarah and Andy have lived together at Royal Lodge since 2008 despite being divorced and seen like they are still a married couple. It’s incredible that they are willing to go their own separate ways. But it indicates that they have been under immense strain this year and need a break from one another. It’s a fresh start for both.”

But if this does happen, whatever break Andrew and Fergie end up taking from each other won’t be that big, according to sources. “Frogmore Cottage is too small for both and Adelaide Cottage is around the corner so they will see each other whenever they want. Both have space for their daughters Eugenie and Beatrice and their families to visit,” the outlet also reported.

It might all be what the former couple needs to stay on good terms, though, considering RadarOnline.com recently reported that Ferguson is preparing to “turn on” Prince Andrew as they both have to deal with the consequences of their long relationship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The two recently had to give up the Duke and Duchess of York titles, and now, there’s pressure to leave their home at Royal Lodge.

“Sarah’s always known how to look after herself,” a royal insider told the outlet. “If she’s forced to pick between protecting Andrew or protecting her own future, she’ll put herself first. She realizes this scandal could finish her off – and she’s not the type to go down without a fight.”

This new compromise, however, might keep them both on good terms and take them out of Royal Lodge. Now, to see if King Charles approves.
