The emotional can affect the physical, that much we know. And when you’re already struggling physically, or when you’re recovering from something big, the best thing to do is try to cultivate a peaceful, healing environment. That is, of course, much harder when you’re a member of the British royalty. And with the Prince Andrew upheaval lately, people have been wondering what—if any—impact it has had on the health of Kate Middleton.

According to RadarOnline.com, the stress has indeed taken a toll, to the point it’s life the Princess of Wales is feeling “physically and emotionally drained” by the current state of affairs. “Kate feels sick to her stomach that it’s happening all over again. After everything she’s been through, she just wants peace, stability, and to protect her children. The stress of it all couldn’t come at a worse time,” they said.

Both Prince Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, have voluntarily given up their titles. Their daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, however, retain use of the title. All of it comes after a new email leaked showed Fergie apologizing to Epstein for publicly disowning him and Virginia Giuffre’s posthumous memoir Nobody’s Girl, detailing her abuse at the hands of Jeffrey Epstein and her encounters with Andrew.

“Kate’s both devastated and angry,” a family source said. “She feels let down after spending years helping to rebuild public faith in the royals, only for Andrew’s actions to undo so much of that progress. She’s adamant this has to stop now – she won’t let it stain the future for her children.”

This is particularly upsetting at a time when Middleton has prioritized her health and time spent with her children. “She’s concentrating on her recovery, body and mind,” said another insider. “That’s why all the upheaval around Andrew feels unbearable to her. She’s doing her best to stay centered for her children and William, but this constant drama makes it incredibly hard.”

Months ago, reports indicated Middleton was still “struggling” both emotionally and physically, despite being in remission from cancer. “Behind closed doors, she’s still struggling emotionally and tires a lot more easily; it’s taking longer to readjust to royal life after her cancer treatment,” a palace insider told RadarOnline.

And the fact that Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson are, despite giving up their titles, still living at Royal Lodge, which is located in Windsor Great Park and relatively close to Forest Lodge, the new home Kate and William are moving into, probably doesn’t help. “William and Kate are completely aligned on this,” a senior royal aide told RadarOnline.com. “They’ve told the King that things have to change – the monarchy needs to move forward without favoritism or fresh controversy. In their view, Andrew and Sarah staying at Royal Lodge just keeps the family stuck in old scandals.”

And, while the drama continues—one way or another—the emotional toll it takes will continue. That’s probably not great for Kate Middleton, for King Charles, or for anyone.
