The ‘Uncomfortable’ Reason Tom Cruise’s GF Broke Up With Him After Reports Nicole Kidman Could Get Back Together With a Famous Ex
It’s a little bit ironic that right as Nicole Kidman is ending her long marriage to Keith Urban, Tom Cruise, her other former ex-husband, finds himself single after his relationship with Ana de Armas ended. It doesn’t necessarily mean anything, other than timing is funny in Hollywood. But with so much interest in Kidman’s romantic life these days, there have also been questions about why Cruise and Ana de Armas broke up in the first place.
Us Weekly reports that the breakup was “Ana’s decision,” after she allegedly became “uncomfortable” with the pace. “Things were moving fast and she started to get a little uncomfortable with how fast it was going,” a source told the outlet.

The source added that even though she “put the brakes on,” she “still likes [Cruise] a lot,” which means they could reconnect at some point. “They have a connection,” the source said. “They will see how things go in the future. … Tom and Ana are done for now. They want to remain friends, but she needed to take a step back.”
Previous reports from the Daily Mail indicated that the two, who first sparked romance rumors in February “weren’t able to figure it out as a couple” and “ended up realizing that they should keep it professional.” Cruise and de Armas reportedly “wanted to save the future of their friendship and their movie.” The two have an upcoming movie they star in together, called Deeper.
The outlet also said, “They got together to see if they would be able to work together, and that developed into something more, which neither of them expected.” The Sun added to the report, saying the two no longer felt a “spark” and “realized they weren’t going to go the distance.” The outlet, however, reported the two would stay good friends.

All of this comes after RadarOnline.com reported that Kidman is ready to enter her “revenge romance era” and she might do so with former fiancé Lenny Kravitz. “Nicole and Lenny go way back,” a friend of Kidman told the outlet. “What they had was real love, and that connection between them has never really faded. People who know them both say the spark is still there.”
Sources close to Kravitz agree. “Both Lenny and Nicole are single now, so it feels natural for them to reconnect,” insiders close to the singer said. “He’s been open about wanting to find his soulmate – maybe this is the right moment for them to make it work.”
This all comes after reports that Urban has already moved on. “The rumor is that he’s with a younger woman in the business,” a “Nashville music industry source told Daily Mail. “It’s all everyone is talking about. Everyone wants to know who, but so far, that’s a mystery.”
Cruise and Kidman were married for 11 years and announced their divorce in February 2001 due to the “difficulties inherent of diverging careers which constantly keep them apart.”
