Sarah Ferguson has long been in the middle of every drama associated with former Prince Andrew. Part of it is that the two were married and share two daughters, yes. But a lot of it is that she has also done her fair share of controversial things and had her own personal association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. This isn’t a case of her paying for his sins. And yet, as Andrew is pushed to the side by the royal family, and yet still ultimately protected by his brother King Charles, what will become of Sarah Ferguson?

A royal source told Daily Mail about Ferguson, “The honest truth is that she has nowhere to go and no-one to go with. Her future is hanging in the balance,” explaining that, “People don’t want to be associated with her anymore.”

“Never one to shy away from a famous friend, Sarah has always surrounded herself with the most well-heeled of pals…However, it’s Prince Andrew‘s ex-wife’s friendship with late billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein that’s resulted in her fall from grace,” the outlet reported.

Both Andrew and Ferguson are set to leave their home of Royal Lodge, where they have lived together since 2008, despite being separated. According to the BBC, Ferguson “will make her own living arrangements,” and “it’s believed she won’t be moving to Sandringham in Norfolk with Andrew.” However, there have been no reports about where she will be moving, other than it won’t be close to Andrew.

People recently reported that, “She is going to be moving out and into a separate home,” with a source saying she has never asked for handouts. “Contrary to reports, she has never asked for a property or any provision for herself.” The source also said, “She will continue to forge an independent life.”

According to the Daily Mail the decision to live together for Andrew and Fergie had nothing to do with a desire to reconcile. “It’s lucrative for both of them to be together,” royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told the outlet, adding that the “mutually advantageous” agreement has allowed both of “them to live at a certain level.”

The former Duchess of York once told the Financial Times in 2021 that she and Andrew were “the happiest divorced couple in the world,” and adding about her living arrangements, “I’m lucky enough to be a guest at Royal Lodge,” adding, “He’s that side and I’m this side.”

“They’ve kept that facade up very well,” Fitzwilliams told the Daily Mail. “My feeling is that it was because they are extremely greedy.”

Now, the two are out of Royal Lodge and have lost the titles they relied on for so many years, and Ferguson kept after the divorce. But the truth is, even though the pair has famously gotten along for all these years, everyone apparently reaches a time where they gotta look out for themselves. And for Andrew, that might mean abandoning his ex-wife to her own devices. Not that either of them is really getting punished all that much, in the first place.
