King Charles is reportedly already planning his upcoming funeral, and Prince William has a lot in mind for the big event.

RadarOnline reports that the planning has already been commenced because of the monarch’s declining health. “The palace is desperately trying to downplay the seriousness of His Majesty’s illness,” a source claimed to the gossip site. “But Charles knows it’s the end, and so do his sons. William is formally making plans for his version of the future of the monarchy – with or without Charles’ blessing – and making his own decisions as king.”

The king wants to go all out for his funeral. “There will be no expenses spared,” another insider dished. “He hasn’t been king for long, but he’s been a loyal servant for over 70 years.”

The event will reportedly take place in Westminster Abbey where a majority of milestone royal events take place. The guest list will reportedly consist of hundreds of foreign royals and dignitaries, political and religious leaders, and several friends. The site reports that his brother Andrew might not be able to attend due to his scandals with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

“The only modus operandi of the monarchy is to distance themselves — and to exile him,” royal expert Hilary A. Fordwich told the site. “Historically, he’s always been protected by the British government, but Prince William is not going to be protecting him to the same degree – definitely not.”

One of those expected guests includes Prince Harry, who’s in the midst of reconciling with his father. However, Prince William wants to put his two cents to his estranged brother returning to his home country. There’s been talks that Harry might opt in for a “half-in, half out” mode where he spends his time equally between the US and UK. But, his older brother might put a stop to it, with a source saying that he was “staggered that his father’s allowing Harry back into the fold like this prodigal son figure.”

“William is determined to block, or at the very least severely hamper, Harry’s move to Windsor,” an insider said. “He’s the heir now, carrying the institution. From his perspective, re-admitting Harry in any official or semi-official capacity risks confusion and fresh controversy. He feels burned and doesn’t want to reopen old wounds.”

No matter the familial outcome, William’s input is in dire need. “They’re quietly preparing William to step up – fast. The illusion of perfect health is collapsing. What we’re seeing is the reality behind the crown – a monarch in decline.”
