Princess Beatrice is still afloat amid her father’s title being stripped. The daughter of the former prince Andrew Mountbatten Windsor has taken up new responsibilites in light of the news.
Beatrice has been named as deputy patron of The Outward Bound Trust, which her father had supported for decades before his resignation as patron in 2019. Beatrice had been a trustee of the charity for six years. She joins her uncle Prince Edward as a patron. Buckingham Palace announced on October 30th that the former prince would now be called Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, as part of the damage control over new reports about Andrew’s friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Princess Beatrice and her sister Eugenie will be able to retain their royal titles thanks to an accordance with King George V’s Letters Patent of 1917.
The sisters recently left the UK amid the news— Beatrice traveled to Saudi Arabia for a global tech summit and Eugenie left for Paris. Sources told RadarOnline that their “double escape” from their home country wasn’t a coincidence and hinted that it was planned.
A royal source told the site, “Beatrice and Eugenie are in an impossible position. The shadow of their parents’ scandals keeps following them, and it’s getting harder to protect their own reputations. Each new story about Sarah or Andrew makes it tougher to be taken seriously in professional and philanthropic circles.”
