King Charles and Queen Camilla had experienced a rollercoaster of emotions lately. There’s the King’s cancer, which he’s still getting treatment for. There’s the Andrew scandal, which saw the monarch have to make the decision to strip his brother of his titles and evict him from his home, Royal Lodge. Then there’s also the fact that Charles recently met up with his youngest son, Harry, for the first time in over a year.
But the King and Queen were recently very moved about a special comment, one that relates to King Charles’ cancer battle. Members of the Royal Family gathered to honor military veterans at a Windsor Castle event. During the event, 105-year-old Yanvar Abbas, whom the royal couple had met at a service of remembrance earlier this year, thanked the King and Queen for being there despite King Charles’s cancer battle.

According to GB News, his words “appeared to move the couple to tears.”
“I told him, ‘We can’t go on meeting like this,'” Abbas joked. “I was very much looking forward to meeting him again. “I have a lot of respect for His Majesty, not just as a monarch, but as a human being.”
A cancer survivor himself, Abbas’ added. “It’s wonderful to meet him and to know that he is improving, because I had cancer and I got rid of it. I’ve been rid of it for 15 years now.”
The King’s health has been under particular scrutiny lately, particularly due to Prince Andrew’s scandals, with some people worrying that the strain of having to deal with report after report about his brother could take a toll on the monarch. This is especially true after RadarOnline.com reported that the king is “physically sick with worry” about Andrew and what else could come out. The outlet also reported there was concern that Charles’ cancer treatment has left him “too frail” to deal with the crisis. “It’s going to kill him,” a source went as far as saying.
“The King is utterly worn down by it. Just when he thinks the matter has settled, another revelation surfaces. It’s placing enormous strain on him. He’s doing his best to focus on his recovery and royal work, but the constant stress is really affecting his health,” a source explained.
All of this comes after RadarOnline.com recently said that the king is battling pancreatic cancer and the news is not good. “The palace is desperately trying to downplay the seriousness of His Majesty’s illness,” an insider told the outlet. “But Charles knows it’s the end, and so do his sons. William is formally making plans for his version of the future of the monarchy – with or without Charles’ blessing – and making his own decisions as king.”
This all tracks with reports by Rob Shuter’s Substack, which went as far as to say the King was “dying” and that his health has forced Prince William to step up. Shuter says Charles is “seriously unwell but determined to carry on,” and, “He’s exhausted, but he won’t stop. Every morning he insists on reading his red boxes. He believes his service to the country is his calling — and he’ll keep going as long as he can.”
