The question of what’s next for the former prince Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, has been asked plenty of times in the past few weeks. Andrew is not stranger to scandal, but it seems like things have been getting progressively worse lately, after email leaks, Virginia Giuffre’s biography and a concerted push in the US to release the so-called Epstein Files, which reportedly heavily feature Andrew.

And now, there are reports that the former couple might be looking to leave the country after being told to vacate their home at Royal Lodge. “They would rather be treated like royalty abroad than subjects at home,” an insider told the National Enquirer.

One of the more shocking stories to come out about Andrew, reported in royal historian Andrew Lownie’s book, Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York, is that he once asked 40 sex workers be brought to his room in Thailand during a taxpayer-funded trip. The incident reportedly occurred in 2001, when Andrew was trade envoy for the UK.

“Andrew is representing his country and insists on staying in a five-star hotel rather than the embassy. Andrew had 40 prostitutes brought in the space of four days. This was all enabled by diplomats and others,” Lownie said.

The repeated headlines about Andrew and Fergie have reportedly taken their toll on the former couple, who are now considering leaving. “They’ve had enough of being shamed, sidelined and surveilled,” a senior palace aide said. “They truly believe their only option is to leave.”

Another source even said that there’s nothing keeping the pair in the UK, as “Put it this way, the invitations have dried up overnight.”

But this might not be the only reason the two are looking to leave, as reports even indicate that now that they’ve been stripped of their titles, real consequences could follow. And we’re talking way more than just losing titles or a mansion.

RadarOnline.com recently reported that Andrew Mountbouten-Windsor could soon face criminal charges. A source told the outlet, “Andrew’s in a very precarious position now. Without the protection his royal titles gave him, he’s more wide open to legal action.”

“The Palace has clearly distanced itself, and he’s been left to deal with the fallout over his links to Epstein alone. He is a sitting duck for law enforcement, and very vulnerable. He should be getting a top legal team in place now.”

“Andrew is going to be charged with various public offences and misconduct in public office… he’ll probably go to jail,” Andrew Lownie told NewsNation. “The case against him is pretty clear. He’s absolutely, he’s toast.”

Ironically, according to Lownie, it won’t be his Epstein connections that finally bring him down. “He won’t go down for sex trafficking,” Lownie explained. “It will be for financial impropriety.” That’s why what happened on his trips as a trade envoy is so important.

Lownie indicates the fallout will also affect Fergie, who will likely be investigated. “She’s been basically using charities to make money. So she’s gonna be in trouble there.”

More than enough reason to try to flee the country.
