Ana de Armas Might’ve Already Moved on From Tom Cruise With a Younger Man Amid Reports the Actor Is in ‘Pain’ From the ‘Heartbreak’
What’s that saying? New love drives out old love. And no one takes that as seriously as Hollywood, where you can see people moving on from a breakup very soon. In fact, at this point, it’s almost more surprising when they don’t. So, the reports that Ana De Armas might have already been dating someone new are anything but surprising.
TMZ reported that the actress was seen in Los Angeles strolling around with a man named Marcelo Valente, a partner at venture capital company Babel Ventures. They were just walking around, and there was no PDA or anything to confirm they might be dating, but it was enough for people to take notice.

Especially since Rob Shuter’s ShuterScoop very recently reported on why the actress decided to end the relationship, explaining that Cruise “adored” her, “but he acted like a director, not a boyfriend.” His sources said, “Every dinner, every outfit, every weekend plan — he had notes. It was exhausting.” Not just that, Cruise was also reportedly moving too fast.
“He’s high-octane in everything,” an insider said. “Ana wanted a partner. Tom wanted a production.”
Us Weekly reported recently that the breakup was “Ana’s decision,” after she allegedly became “uncomfortable” with the pace. “Things were moving fast and she started to get a little uncomfortable with how fast it was going,” a source told the outlet. This tracks with the rest of the reporting, and even with the actress moving on to a more casual relationship. Or, not moving on, and just casually making friends and seeing where it goes.
Reports from the Daily Mail indicated that Cruise and de Armas “weren’t able to figure it out as a couple” and “ended up realizing that they should keep it professional.” They allegedly “wanted to save the future of their friendship and their movie.” The former couple is set to star in an upcoming movie called Deeper.
“They got together to see if they would be able to work together, and that developed into something more, which neither of them expected,” the outlet also said. The Sun’s reporting of it was less positive, saying that the pair no longer felt a “spark” and “realized they weren’t going to go the distance.”
And reportedly, Cruise hasn’t been taking the breakup with de Armas well. A source said, “He’s going around saying he was the one who ended things, but it’s clear he’s in pain. One day, he insists it’s her loss, the next he’s wondering if he’ll ever meet someone who really gets him. He’s uneasy, isolated, and overthinking everything.”
Those friends indicate that Tom Cruise is now turning to work to avoid his feelings. “He’s turning the pain into discipline,” a close associate said. “He’s throwing himself into work more than ever – that’s typical Tom. He doesn’t know how to sit with heartbreak, so he buries it in effort.”
Ana de Armas, meanwhile, seems to be ready to move on. Or at least turn the page.
