The former Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson are now facing some consequences for their actions and their sustained friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. No one seems to object to that. But there’s no doubt that what happened has also affected their daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, who were not involved in their parents’ decisions. So, how are the two handling it?

Beatrice recently appeared on an episode of The Borne Podcast, released on Monday, Nov. 17 to mark World Prematurity Day 2025 and discussed the experience of learning a baby can be preterm. Beatrice shares two daughters with her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.

“I think so often, especially as [moms], we spend our lives, you know, feeling we have to be perfect to do this. And sometimes, when you are faced with that moment of learning that your baby’s going to come a bit early, it can be incredibly lonely,” she shared.

“And even now, talking to some of the [moms] who know about my work with [medical research charity] Borne, they feel this sense of, like, [sort of] life changing relief that can come with knowing that there is an organization there that is supporting the research and supporting the questions, and asking some of these important questions.”

Beatrice is now a patron for the charity, which “is on a mission to end premature birth – everywhere and forever,” according to the website.

All of this comes after the sisters were seen out in public for the first time since Andrew was stripped of his titles in Mayfair. The two were spotted having what has been described as an emotional conversation, and according to a lip reader, Nicola Hickling, who spoke to the Daily Mail, the conversation likely had to do with their father.

Hickling says Beatrice told her younger sister, “We’re in this together, don’t forget that,” and “it’s going to get harder”, along with “we can’t do anything” and “it’s a really anxious time.”

Eugenie then reportedly replied with: “Everything is changing.”

Some didn’t take the exchange in good faith. Rob Shuter’s ShuterScoop reported from sources that “the public display was anything but spontaneous,” with a source saying, “I think they knew exactly what they were doing. They’re rebranding as survivors—victims of their parents’ scandals, not participants.”

Another source added, “People want to forgive them. If they stay clean—no cash-for-favors, no scandals—the sympathy will stick,” while another added, “You can’t live rent-free at St. James’s Palace and Kensington Palace and cry poor on the pavement.”

All of this comes after rumors that their father, Andrew, isn’t done facing consequences for his actions. Some reports indicate Andrew Mountbouten-Windsor could even face jail time. Royal biographer Andrew Lownie, who recently published Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York, is expecting things to get worse.

“Andrew is going to be charged with various public offences and misconduct in public office… he’ll probably go to jail,” the author said to NewsNation. “The case against him is pretty clear. He’s absolutely, he’s toast.”

But not because of what happened with Epstein. “He won’t go down for sex trafficking,” Lownie explained. “It will be for financial impropriety.”

Either way, it’s now starting to make sense why his daughters would want to be as far away from the fallout as possible.
